Will this new policy of thought policing be extended to all protests, demonstrations, meetings....... Our right to Protest Peacefully is not being attacked or being removed those who wish to hold a Protest will still be able to as usual, the Police actually help organise Protest. What has never been allowed is an unlawful Protest and people involved committing Offences. In today's media the Met Police have stated what they are doing and why The Metropolitan Police said their "significant" operation had resulted at least three people being detained, who the force had "strong reason to believe are intent on causing reckless and serious disruption to the public". In a statement released late on Sunday, Assistant Commissioner Matt Twist said: "Acting on intelligence, this operation is fast-moving and will continue this evening and overnight with multiple arrest enquiries underway. "So far this evening we have made three arrests linked to this activity. "This is an evolving situation, and we suspect the intent of these individuals is disproportionate to any legitimate right to protest and clearly crosses the line into unlawful activity. "Our investigation has strong reason to suspect the Just Stop Oil group intend to disrupt major motorway road networks which would risk serious harm to the public, with reckless action to obstruct the public on a large scale."

And as for the usuals who bash the DM note there are no comments permited on this article.
Is this FINALLY the end of the road for Just Stop Oil? Eco-group mastermind Roger Hallam is arrested by cops 'ahead of planned M25 demo today' - as National Highways gets court order barring zealots from disrupting Britain's busiest motorway The founder of Just Stop Oil, Roger Hallam, 56, was arrested last night He was detained on suspicion of conspiracy to commit public nuisance National Highways secured injunction to prevent protesters disrupting M25
"Cospiracy to commit public nuisance"π How ridiculous does that sound. Next it will be "Conspiracy to hold up a placard".π Holding up a placard is a public nuisance in Hallam's case

Will this new policy of thought policing be extended to all protests, demonstrations, meetings....... You tell me.... There is no mention whatsoever that lawfull protests and demonstrations will be banned........ I see you ignore the fact that the DM are not accepting comments on this article would you call that suppressing free speech? Of course these things start slowly and then proceed at great pace, using a Tory mantra.

All protests cause some disruption that is what makes them effective. If this carries on will they arrest union leaders for causing disruption when they think about strike action?

It's what makes them unlawfull. Were you not the one on the other forum that was standing up for the gob with a megafone who drowned out everything around the HOC? He wasn't banned he was just banned from that particular area. And I see yet again you fail to comment on the DM's stifling of free speech.

Will this new policy of thought policing be extended to all protests, demonstrations, meetings....... 'Thought policing' is a tactic invented by the left. No point complaining that it is being used against the far-left now. Reap what they/you sow.

The idiots who use anti social behaviour to make a political point are merely vandals . They have managed to rally the public against them Imo. As I have said before the front line of eco warriors are retired and/ or unwashed lefties running amok and an autistic 19 year old that looks 12.

Jonsk so you think arresting someone for a thought process is a good idea. Yes, if we don't arrest say would-be terrorist 'before' they blow somewhere up and save many lives, what do you think the public would have to say.
We didn't arrest him because we thought he was only thinking of blowing somewhere up ... FFS there would be uproar, not preventing a terrorist attack, and by the way I don't find much difference between the Eco mob and terrorists, both are possible threat to lives.
