While see 2 waffles about the financial crash , and defends the Iraq war , bear in mind as well 3 million of those four million labour voters were lost by 2001 , prior to Iraq never mind the crash. Within months of his election , in 1997 , the media were full of headlines such as `ever feel you have been cheated` regarding the snake that is Blair. i confess i was too busy looking elsewhere making money to watch what this piece of shit was up to. Locally though it was 2005 when the Official Bring A Bottle (to the end of the world) Party, and in London Peter Kellner’s Your Party were launched that i really saw his popularity tank. you have to admit though John Wales is a bit of an outlier , where the welsh just simply can't break a habit of a lifetime when it comes to voting in labour despite the mess on every level that labour has made to devolved Wales in the last quarter century. So it's no surprise that Blairs unpopularity took a while to reach our sleepy welsh cousins. I think we agreed previously , that both us and our families were much worse off during the Blair years.

As far as I'm aware the English, Scottish and Welsh NHS were run separately and independently. There are at least three areas where Blair/New Labour benefitted the majority in England, they are 1. the much needed rescue of the NHS that benefitted the not so rich who couldn't afford private health. 2. State education, the majority of which had suffered badly from serious underfunding thanks to Thatcher's Grant Maintained system of funding. and 3. But for the Meltdown the number of unemployed would have been lower than when New Labour were elected in 1997. There is absolutely no doubt that there were many other positives under Blair I just can't be bothered to research them all over again.

What's your point? My point to John is that very fact......why the sleepy welsh keep voting tribally for a party that is failing them. Why would anyone want labour in at Holyrood or Westminster looking at the mess you have had Wales in this past quarter century?

They almost destroyed it , and saddled it with decades of needless PFI debt. 2. Education. They introduced tuition fees in Scotland , one of the many reasons they were kicked out of power. 3. unemployment. Labour leave unemployment generally higher than they find it . whatever the alleged good Blairs government did , the cons certainly outweighed to pros.

Even Wales’ safest seat which labour lost when Peter Law lost the whip in favour of an all woman shortlist and trounced them to win reverted to labour after two elections.

What really do you mean there be a worser cost of living crisis what hit everyone badly from the poorest to the wealthy. A cost of living crisis caused by this government mis management of the Economy.

Yep we all know how 13 years of austerity left us well prepared for this event. Oh wait. Don't be silly, we are going to replace one lot of establishment flunkies with another, I don't even think anyone is in much doubt about that.We should name it perhaps, call it something like Liberal democracy, so we all keep in step.

It's a good question we don't get many of them, when I ask them, nobody can answer, well, how about somebody with actual worldly knowledge, has an actual relationship with the people, put the needs of the people before their own and their establishment chums, stop pretending they are big guns in global politics and concentrate on what they get voted to do and put the British people first within reason. Not much really just what anyone would expect.
