I don't pretend to know every Tory voter in the country, but the Tory voters I do know are voting Tory or Reform. I am yet to speak to anyone who says they are not voting. I've got two friends who say they don't know what to do next election and probably wont vote. They're no threat to anyone except democracy.

I've got two friends who say they don't know what to do next election and probably wont vote. They're no threat to anyone except democracy. That's the way certain parties like it. It's clear to see that both the tories , and to a certain degree the snp as it currently stands , are losing the support of their base. However , as polling guru John curtice has stated numerous times , the public in Scotland and England aren't behind kier starmer and his joke of a party. I will be surprised if labour get more than 20% of the total uk electorate voting for them at the next Westminster general election. Two of labours last three uk election victories were won off the back of voter apathy , none of the above on the ballot paper , which enabled landslide victories on a tiny minority of the electorate. Democracy in the yookay has been a mess now for years.

Someone once said theres no such thing as bad publicity. Do you want to know why Jonksy has won? You're talking about him. You can always tell when you have hit the spot with the lefties mate. Thanks for confirming that it was trolling rather than memory loss. FWIW I don't describe myself as a Leftie, I'm a centrist. My natural home is probably LibDem, but I've become somewhat of a tactical voter in recent years, voting LibDem, Green and Labour in various elections.

You're a lefty.
Well, compared to yourself obviously so. However, I could only be described as a Leftie by someone who thinks there are only two boxes and need to place people within these. If that is your understanding well that's a very naive simplistic way of looking at politics. If that is your level of thinking in black and white, remember there are colours and shades too. Perhaps when you realise this you may start listening to what people are trying to say, rather than just placing them in that box. Not only does it make for tiresome debate (look at how many threads Jonksy has trampled on) but maybe we could all learn something from each other? Just a thought.

Maybe you should try it sometime?
For the record, I am a centrist. An actual centrist. And I doubt that anyone would describe Labour, the Lib Dems or the Greens as in any way centrist.
They are left wing. And, if you vote for them, you are left wing.
That isn't bad per se, after all everyone is entitled to their opinion. Just as everyone else is entitled to judge, and weigh the worth, of that opinion upon it's basis.

Back to this nonsense. Everyone thinks they're a centrist, which enables them to call anyone with a different view extreme. So if you're a centrist how will you equate that when Labour win with a big majority? Does that mean only a few people are centrist.

So if you're a centrist how will you equate that when Labour win with a big majority?... Are you suggesting that whoever wins a general election becomes the centre by default? So, for example, if the French National Front win the next French general election are they still "Far Right" in your view or would you then call them centrist? And what do you mean by a "Big majority"? I predict a low turnout and a Labour victory with a record low vote share (even lower than Blairs record low at the last Labour "Victory"). So about 20% of the electorate will vote Labour. So hardly representative of the majority. Would that still make them centrist in your view?

Of course Labour are a broad church, in the same way that the Tories are. There's probably not a lot politically between a Tony Blair and a David Cameron, if you want to think in that 2 dimensional way. Currently we have the populists declaring that only they are the true conservative, trying to purge the more one nation Tories out of the party. You see it on these very boards. Some of them even believe that this is the way to public support. Personally I'd be very surprised.
