Phobia - quote: A phobia is a persistent, excessive, unrealistic fear of an object, person, animal, activity or situation. It is a type of disorder. A person with a phobia either tries to avoid the thing that triggers the fear, or endures it with great anxiety and distress. In other words, the term 'Islamophobia' is a non word. It's nonsense. We’re lucky to have someone lie you to illustrate the misleading use of the English language……..so often in your posts…

By the way, who decided things like black history and islamophobia are necessary let alone be given a month, why a month? Millions of people died to ensure future generations could live in freedom and enjoy free speech. Yet those millions are afforded just 1 day a year. And even that day is under threat from clueless anti social morons.

We’re lucky to have someone lie you to illustrate the misleading use of the English language……..so often in your posts… It's a pity, pp, that you don't understand the importance of defining words correctly and using them properly. Orwell long ago warned of the use of language by Totalitarian states to control the thoughts of the people - yet you still don't understand and are carelessly conflating "islamophobia" with anti-semitism. The fact that the APPG gave a muslim the right to define the word "islamophobia" as an attack on "muslimness" should be regarded as an outrage by anybody with a brain. The result is that we've got a word now that seeks to stop people being critical of the religion of islam - which makes islam the only religion that is protected by the law. The example I gave earlier of someone saying that "islam is incompatible with British culture/values" being an example of islamophobia is exactly the problem. This statement was made by a Tory councillor and Baroness Warsi called for him to be sacked. She also gave a lot of other examples of people who should be sacked for islamophobia but ALL of the statements were perfectly accurate (and legal) criticisms of islam. Yet these were all categorised by the police as examples of islamophobia - in other words attacks on muslims - when they were nothing of the kind. So before you bandy around nonsense about the rise of attacks on muslims you should at least take the trouble to understand what you're talking about.

You are correct. Islamophobia is not a word invented by the Muslim Brotherhood. The Muslim Brotherhood was founded in 1928 (easily researched). The word, islamophobia, can be traced back to 1910, when Alain Quellien used the word “islamophobie” to criticize French colonial administrators for their treatment of Muslim subjects. Just because use of word coined over a century ago moves into popular usage shouldn’t mask its modern true meaning…

Islamism was heavily influenced by Nazism, which is why hatred toward Jews comes as part of the package. BLM adopted it.

FFS. The word has been redefined by the APPG - the All Party Parlamentary Group (chaired by a muslim) - and it is as follows: "“ Islamophobia is rooted in racism and is a type of racism that targets expressions of Muslimness or perceived Muslimness". This definition was made by the APPG in 2018. Can you understand that? Probably not. It's fucking obvious to anyone with a brain that this definition moves "islamophobia" from a fear/hatred of islam (which is legal) to an act of racism that is attacking muslims (which is illegal). If the definition is not intended to stifle criticism of islam then why on earth would they have called it "racism" and said that it's an attack on muslims? The definition has been used to threaten people who, for example, criticise islam as being incompatible with British values.

No word is meaningless if means something — in the cases of Islamophobia and anti-Semitism it's a description of fear and hatred of religions (and peoples who practice them) by both those who perpetrate them and are recipients of them...

So again, it's meaningless. Islamism is political Islam and the fact that you support a political ideology rooted in Islam, where all criticism is illegal, sums up your position.

PRESS RELEASE
Today, the Muslim Council of Britain (MCB) marks the beginning of Islamophobia Awareness Month (IAM) 2023. This year, we observe IAM against the backdrop of the ongoing conflict in Palestine and an exceptionally hostile political environment for British Muslim communities.
This year’s theme is #MuslimStories, it is therefore important for us to share the lived experience of British Muslims. In terms of Islamophobic hate crime alone, per Home Office data, where the perceived religion of the victim was recorded, 2 in 5 of all religious hate crime offences were targeted against Muslims, as of March 2023. As such, 39% of all religiously motivated hate crimes targeted Muslims, making Muslims the most targeted faith group.
Strange times — until recently, it's been verbal animosity and physical attacks on Jewish people that seem to have received the most publicity in the UK...
Hmmm...
"The Muslim Council of Britain" an organisation so discredited that even the woke Home Office has an official policy of non-engagement with them.
Does anyone remember their "Tell Momma" website for reporting "Islamophobic" incidents? It turned out that it was making up such reports on mass.
So pardon me if I don't take their word for anything.

It seems strange you want to pigeonhole someone just because they have a different opinion than you. So, for the record, I am not a supporter of any Abrahamic religion or its offshoots — or, for that matter, any other religion.
As far as I am aware, it is as much my right not to believe, as it is those who have a faith, to believe. The same with politics. Although my political leanings are to the Right of centre, I have friends and family who are staunch Labour, some even Socialist.
But I don't see that means I can't be critical of anyone's actions and views that I think are harmful or wrong — or to post what I consider interesting information about (or from) them...
