Blair is was and will always remain a Blot on the political landscape. A 24 carat liar and Walter Mitty who wanted to play cowboys and Indians with his hero George walker (spelt with an n ) Bush. Both responsible for the rise of the jihadis and deaths and danger to not only our population but the misery,turmoil and deaths of so many in that region.j Middle East peace envoy? hilarious if it wasn’t so epically tragic,now has his institute and his thoughts on the latest outbreak Genius wouldn’t you say from the man who contributed so much to the instability of this region? I have repeatedly asked those who accuse Blair of being a complete liar to list some of his lies, there has been no such list so far. Perhaps you could provide one? If you can't perhaps you might consider that you have picked up, and believe in the false propaganda that has been thrown at him. The proven long history of the hatred of the Jews by the Palestinian Arabs and other Muslim countries, is the problem, nothing to do with with "conventional Western diplomacy". How can anyone change that reality, a reality that existed more than a hundred years before 7/10 and has been exacerbated since 7/10? I know you’re a fan of his that’s ok and whatever is said won’t change that I judge him on his deeds and desire even now to be relevant. He pushed the Arab spring,how’s that working out? |

Yes, I'm not overly impressed by Blair as a person, but I do believe that firstly he set out to do good for the majority of people regardless of their political views. And secondly that in keeping the Tories out of office for the longest period in their history has earned himself a huge and persistent subtle and not so subtle false propaganda attack against him. Yes his effort to encourage the Arab Spring was a total failure. And that despite the fact that he was backed by the UN and the Arab League (in Libya) and that so many Arabs wanted it. IMO he learnt to let go over the fiasco in Libya. I think he realised that he did not understand the world of the Muslims. |

Yes, I'm not overly impressed by Blair as a person, but I do believe that firstly he set out to do good for the majority of people regardless of their political views. And secondly that in keeping the Tories out of office for the longest period in their history has earned himself a huge and persistent subtle and not so subtle false propaganda attack against him. Yes his effort to encourage the Arab Spring was a total failure. And that despite the fact that he was backed by the UN and the Arab League (in Libya) and that so many Arabs wanted it. IMO he learnt to let go over the fiasco in Libya. I think he realised that he did not understand the world of the Muslims. Fair comment especially trying to understand the Muslim world. They need their own time to become what they want and it’s not our job nor wise to try and impose our western values on them and they vice versa. This is why I am opposed to an ever increasing Muslim population in the UK as I suspect they would our population in theirs,whatever people may surmise it’s not based on racism but on a clash of culture and values and those who apply western liberal values to them are mistaken. Looking to the wider world and what’s happening now is why a two state solution should be pushed because the more strife the more people movement and that’s in no one’s interests certainly not ours however cynical that may appear but as a destination we are most favoured nation. As I said earlier things are changing albeit slowly,before all this relations were developing between the Saudis and Israel other Arab nations too and why I mentioned liberal western values,the Saudis going for hosting the World Cup will set off the grauniad and others on their sports washing crusade. Its through things like that those countries will modernise,the young people if not pushed by us will want change it’s happening in Iran we need to leave them be as far as we can and not give reason to remain entrenched in the Stone Age. |

Yes, I agree with your post. The one thing that bothers me is that I suspect Hamas have fed into their hatred of the Israelis and it has been deepened amongst their supporters, by Israel's reaction to the massacre of 7/10, a reaction Hamas must have been able to foresee. I suspect Hamas could have undone all or most of the advances Israel has made with Muslim countries. |
