If rats get into your loft they can eat through electric cable . They spread disease too…as do mice . Rats are not your friend .

Yes, looking at humans theres always the threat of nuclear war, environmental destruction of all sorts, the ability to kill everything, rendering a wastleland, cruelty its hard to get your head around, primitive behaviour, selfishness, an ability to not understand anything, an incredible intelligence unable to understand owt, etc, you cant point a finger and not have it pointed back. The difference is that a rat can have the above, while a human can devastate the world.
And have done over and over, s hitting in its own nest but not knowing it. Oh, they do, they are not daft, but dont care. A rat is better.

Wash it again. What deritus do you leave behind? the lesson isnt learnt. This is the lesson, i repeat, point the finger, have it pointed at you, if you kill rats or mice because you call them vermin, then what piles of s hite do you pollute the world with? Carbon dioxide, radiation, polluted rivers, trash of all sorts, over poulation, disease, environmental destruction blah blah..... Judge and you will be judged, just exercise a little kindness in everyday things.
Who in their right mind can kill a mouse? I ve had them, you can buy traps that dont kill, you will have to let them loose at least a mile away or they will come back. Its a world of cause and effect, kill and what then? You are storing up bad karma. Compassion, practice it and you will recieve it.

I have no compassion for vermin, nor do the gulls or raptors. It's all it took to sort my problem out, but if you want an over population problem keep feeding rats and mice. Which should actually be illegal.

Why should I have to rewash clothes contaminated by bird muck from wild birds attracted by some bright spark feeding them? Wild birds are not pets, and should be encouraged to forage for food, and while feeding wild birds can have positive effects on their survival and population growth, people should be aware of the potential negative consequences as well. Wild birds prey on grubs and insects, which is why we have a plague of flies. The birds get lazy and take the easy option of stuffing themselves with food provided by people who don't consider the consequences. I think it is important to follow best practices when feeding garden birds to minimize any negative impact on their natural behaviour. Not only that, but the wild bird foods sold contain products coming from all over the World - thus contributing to pollution in transporting it long distances. (China is the World's biggest peanut producer).

All of you are ignoring the Elephant in the room, or in this case the rat or mouse. When you leave this world leave a small footprint, with having improved it. Imagine dying of thirst in a desert, and a big hand comes down from the heavens and places you by an oasis, i rescue worms from paths so no one walks on them, snails etc, i stop for injured animals.
I dont really have a choice, its in my genes, my personality type among other things, ive done it as a child. Relieving suffering makes me feel better, because somewhere along the line, previous lives, i have been in that desert. How cold and detached you are is beyond me, if i see suffering, emotional or physical i feel it, i turn over if those adverts come on, i can only cope with so much. Maybe you will get it ginny when you are in big trouble, and someone rescues you. When you thought no rescue was possible, and that your rescuer did not discriminate against you, that you did or did not deserve rescuing.
This will be casting seed on barren ground.

I don’t try to elevate myself above nature and I certainly don’t expect others to do it . If I let mice get into my loft and thrive then they will destroy my house and my health . Trapping then and setting them free a mile away wouldn’t work .

Apply wisdom, whats attracting them, get traps that trap alive, i got rid of a lot. I live in the fens, plenty of farm yards around, i dont understand elevating above nature, is that not killing? If thats what your alluding too, isnt that what all of us should be doing? Nature is about survival.

If thats what your alluding too, isnt that what all of us should be doing? Nature is about survival. Wisdom is killing the mice . Mice would breed faster than I could catch them live and wisdom tells me to kill them swiftly not make them a burden . The mice that you catch and plod a mile to let them go would take you and everything you had if you weak enough to let them Nature is cruel . We can’t change that .
