Total GDP is as meaningless to your standard of living as total IQ However, it does provide the state with more subjects to rule over. The ones that make me laugh who support EV's are always stating they have a life...Yeh right they spend their life charging their EV's after they have eventually found a working charger..Some life......LOL Yes I sit and watch my car charge each evening. Or if its charged I watch paint dry. |

In order for the economy to grow (get bigger) on the basis of gdp/capita either or both of two things must happen. One, people joining the country (immigrants) need to create wealth in excess of the current gdp per capita or two; the number of people in the country must be reduced.
I'm not seeing either currently happening or any prospect of it.
Add to this that money isn't everything. If it was suggested that GDP per capita could double if we bought another 20 million souls here. I would politely refuse. |

Because charging an EV is a major inconvenience and so who the lucky person (or organisation) is, becomes a significant economic issue. If you factor in the cost of charging it sounds like they are charging a good portion of day's rental to fill up the battery the car for you. How much would you charge to charge an ev? Or charge them overnight. Ecinomy 7 is being withdrawn.... |

The meters which rely on a radio signal to switch them will soon be defunct. 7 hours of cheap rate can be chosen, according to tariffs with a provider. As an example, we have smart meters which were on economy 7 but we found it cheaper to be on a single daily rate as it saved us money. Electric car users would benefit from E7 if they drive a lot of miles, but you have to offset the increased day rate with the reduced night rate. |
