Absolute nonsense, firstly the attacks started from Gaza and were carried out by Hamas, this has been going on for years, I spent a couple of days in Tel Aviv once when the rockets were coming over for two days and there wasn't a mention of this on the BBC, but on the third day when the IDF destroyed a launch site causing a fatality from the civilian population it was all over the news. Israel has to either live with it, being attacked constantly, with this latest atrocity designed to start a war, or has to go in and eliminate the terrorists, they have stated that they will take all practical measures to keep civilian casualties to a minimum. You cannot compare the unrestrained butchery of Israeli civilians carried out by Hamas to the responses of the IDF. To say there is an attempted genocide of the Palestinians is breathtaking naivety or completely anti semitic, or both. The Israelis are defending their Country and their citizens. Did the trouble only start on Saturday? Hamas are the government of Gaza, Israel is the government of the area defined as Israel. The Gaza government invaded the Israeli area of jurisdiction in the process deliberately killing and torturing Israeli civilians and taking hostages. That seems to the nuts and bolts of it. |

Serious question here Why are we supposed to hate the Jews? I know it's a typical 'joke' we should laugh, but seriously, why are the Jews hated so much. A bigger question, if they were 'Black' or 'Muslims' this kind of racism would not be allowed, ...... come on I need help here, what is going on? I don't think that most of us do. I think the issue is the politics of envy: The Jews are hard working and therefore tend to be successful. And that attracts petty jealousies, especially of the left. |

No they are not, their response is with modern targeted weapons fired at the specific targets, unlike the home made rockets launched on the Israeli urban areas by Humas.
If you chose to support the terrorist organisation intent on removing the State of Israel from the map that is your choice, but don't come on here and insult our intelligence by proclaiming the Israelis are the bad guys in all this.
I suspect that in the days ahead you will be choking on your porridge when you read the news every morning, after 70 years the Israelis have had enough and will rout their enemies, including Tehran if necessary, they havn't started yet.

Tough Oh don't be silly - if you want to commit genocide you dont ask the 'victims' to leave the area.. Telling them to leave their homes and move south while bombing the safe routes is helping matters? How? The Israelis are killing indiscriminately and mindlessly. |

Why have the Jews been persecuted throughout history is a very weighty question. But what has Jewish persecution got to do with what is happening now? Hamas want to obliterate the Israeli state not the Jewish people. Someone brought up the original Hamas charter in a previous post. Well, I have looked at it and can find nothing about killing Jews. The 2017 charter makes this explicit: Article 16. Hamas affirms that its conflict is with the Zionist project not with the Jews because of their religion. Hamas does not wage a struggle against the Jews because they are Jewish but wages a struggle against the Zionists who occupy Palestine. Yet, it is the Zionists who constantly identify Judaism and the Jews with their own colonial project and illegal entity.
Article 17. Hamas rejects the persecution of any human being or the undermining of his or her rights on nationalist, religious or sectarian grounds. Hamas is of the view that the Jewish problem, anti-Semitism and the persecution of the Jews are phenomena fundamentally linked to European history and not to the history of the Arabs and the Muslims or to their heritage. That was essentially the issue for the Nazis: The Jews owned a large share of German business and the Nazis therefore presented them as bleeding the nation dry, of living off the backs of the working class.
The left always need an enemy, someone to blame for societies ills (or alleged ills). The Russians did the same with the "Bourgeoisie" and largely eliminated them and stole their wealth. In Nazi Germany, the Jews were the bourgeoisie - or at least a large section thereof.
The hardworking and sucessful will always attract jealousy and hate. The Jews throughout history have been hardworking and sucessful and have therefore always tended to attract that jealousy and hate.

There are, and always has been Jewish people of the Left and of the Right, there is an Israeli Labour Party, and therefore attempts to portray this conflict as Left ( pro Palestinians ) and Right ( pro Isreal ) is meaningless and nonsense.
As a person of "The Left" ( moderate left ), I see wrong on both sides, and as late the Jewish Labour MP Gerald Kaufman once said, sometimes the Israelis behave like Nazis ( and Gerald Kaufman had every right to say that, because his own grandparents were murdered in cold blood by Nazis ).
Sometimes the Palestinians - or those that claim to represent the Palestinians, also act like Nazis, they kill innocent people simply because they are Jews.
Both sides need their heads banging together and they need to be told to work something out, before more innocent people are killed. But will this ever happen ?

It isn’t always, of course, but blue sky is not generally thought unusual. It’s a good question, and I doubt there’s ever going to to be an answer. Hatred and persecution of the Jews has been documented from about 300 BCE, and become entrenched in various societies at various times over the centuries — during which time there’s been many suggested reasons for why Jews should be hated, but there’s not really been any incontrovertible reason given (as far as I can see). Hatred of the Jews was evident before either Christianity or Islam were invented — though both entered into the spirit of things with gusto. Not many areas of the old Roman Empire in North Africa, the middle each and Europe can claim they’d never joined in over the centuries… PS — before the board pedants start, I’m aware of the reasons why the sky appears blue, and that not everyone always thought it was….. |

Labour exploit the age old Jew hatred found in the backward parts of the world they import voters from. They also profit by supporting racist groups like BLM, which obviously has ties to the Nation of Islam and other Islamist outfits who are cheerleading the massacre of civilians. |
