I detest the filthy stink of tobacco, and I wish its use could be confined to the privacy of one's home and vehicle. Some things shouldn't take place in public, and smoking is one of them.

Pubs now stink of stale beer and sweat instead. Those that managed to stay open after the smoking ban.

Those I go to in the West end, City and further east are (fewer, admittedly) but pleasant drinking and also (sometimes) eating establishments...

You have to laugh - the LibDems have found themselves now supporting (at the same time) the restrictions on the sale of cigarettes and campaigning for the sale of Marijuana to be made legal.

Not very Liberal of them to support excessive anti tobacco legislation. What they should be considering is keeping kids from vaping with those single use plastic things that litter our streets.

He hasn't legislated to, yet. It's one thing saying, it's another doing.

The shadow chancellor has just said ''with a shortage of cigarette packets what are the Tories going to write their future policies on?''

Hasn't Sunak already said he's going to ban disposable vapes? This could be part of the reason, "The Conservatives have accepted a £350,000 donation from a company producing colourful vapes despite a crackdown on e-cigarette products aimed at children. Rishi Sunak’s party took the six-figure sum from Supreme 8 Ltd in May, the latest Electoral Commission records show."

I've been finding these "Lost Mary" disposable vapes all over the place. What is it with smokers and vapers that can't dispose of rubbish properly? I'm sick of picking their rubbish up from the beach and binning it.

Nicotine’s only use, other use than addicting chewers and inhalers, is as an insect eradicator…

If an adult wants nicotine, an adult should be able to have nicotine, banning tobacco is illiberal.
Stopping kids from smoking, fair enough.
But adults? Nah.
Besides, anyone can grow their own.
It's just commercial tobacco farming which isn't allowed, under legislation going back to King James Stuart.
