Always saw him as an odd ball and occasionally funny and when he went political occasionally made good points, though did not follow him. Reminds me of Assange, Brand not denying he is promiscuous just that it was consenual. This seems a bit premature he has not been convicted of anything yet www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/uk-politics-66821093

It was all anonymous witnesses on Ch4's 90 min ''exposure'' last night. He has had treatment for sex addiction though.
Too early to tell...

Liking or disliking someone shouldn’t have a bearing on whether you believe them guilty of a crime.
Either there is sufficient evidence he did what he is accused of, or there isn’t.
I’m not a fan of trial by media.
I’ll reserve my judgement.

Just discovered he had been attacking vaccinations and lock-downs and had 6m followers.
Beginning to seem he might be like Assange upsetting too many powerful interests.

Liking or disliking someone shouldn’t have a bearing on whether you believe them guilty of a crime. Either there is sufficient evidence he did what he is accused of, or there isn’t. I’m not a fan of trial by media. I’ll reserve my judgement. Totally agree. … My interest immediately asks … Exactly on what dates did these assaults take place? …. are these commentators and BBC analysing the details … questioning the victims sensitively … not the rumour? … as seen in the video dropped here.🤔🙄 As with the Assange case - establishing consent is important … if you suffer assault and ‘rape’ … at the earliest opportunity that you break free …. you walk, stagger, crawl into a police station and they will record your complaint and collect the fresh DNA evidence, marks and bruises in photographs/testimony video that backs up your claim. Were these victims locked up in Brand and Assange’s basements until the day they came out with their ‘claims’. … Clearly not. …one even came back for ‘seconds’ in the Assange case. 🤯 . Unbelievable.🙄 These claimants(£££$$$€€€ ?) /alleged victims know the WEST Legal System can arrest offenders and lock rapists up to stop them re-offending. …. These victims (my full sympathy if genuine) made repeated terrible decisions. - Showering and not reporting the crime at the first opportunity. …. in some instances … not for YEARS?… and neither did their ‘friends’ on the gossip grapevine? … Why a conspiracy of silence? …. It makes sympathy subside … and one doubts their motives …. that they waited until Russell Brand reached a tipping point of 6million Youtube subscribers, a new income stream and started to make those in Authority look stupid … and started to upset Deep State with his very annoying hyperactive rants. - I was never a fan.…. Whose surprised the Establishment + the BBC et al would look for dirt to bring Brand down? …lock him away for a long time … rather than address the ‘criticism’? …. Deep State and the Media can pay well - and surreptitiously - for that to happen. Sums that would set multiple victims up for life … that would be paid by the tax-payers and tv licence holders. The higher the ‘fall from grace’ … the more they pay. It’s not their money … why should the ‘incompetent scum in Authority’ worry about the cost? My intuition says these women aren’t stupid … they just waited for the right moment, got an Agent … then put out ‘feelers’ for £££€€$$€ It’s the Electorate that are arguably partly victims here too - heavily defunded by this pantomime … never able to vote out the ‘unaccountable scum in Authority’ who make our lives utter misery …robbing us, then killing us. Most one off rape is … wham, bang … physical assault over … sometimes long term mental trauma. - Russell Brand and Assange’s enemies … dish out far worse over the longterm. Sanctions/Pandemic rape is a thing we can all acknowledge being victims of …worldwide. Many are dying from that and being turfed out of their homes, traumatised and desperate. These victims here are likely mostly footballers wives-types with iPhones who had a bad day at the Office chasing a ‘sex-aholic celebrity’ who didn’t want a long term relationship. Guess they left it a bit too late to complain ….

Investigation into him began in 2019. Fuck all to do with Covid.
Don't know if he's a rapist or if he isn't. It's for the courts to judge him, not us.
Trial by media should be banned. We should NOT know about the accusations against him at present, it's a matter for the Police and the Crown Prosecution Service and possibly the Yank courts as well.

What is going is fishing for people to join the bandwagon against Brand and this is wrong and also to cut off his sources of income until he is arrested and charged.
I suppose their argument will be about Jimmy Saville though conveniently that only happened posthumously.

Better to get a rapist when he's alive than expose him when dead.
But, the info should have been kept private and given to the courts.
How the hell can he get a fair trial now?

Is the UK government "messaging social media companies and asking them to defund him"? My reading of the text in the link you provide is that it is just requesting information...

That is a fair question — but it should be remembered that Brand publicised the story first, though no doubt he'd claim he did it as a defensive measure.
Wonder Brand is being advised by Max Clifford's daughter, who is reported to have set up her own PR firm using her father's archives and office furniture...

I'm afraid I have to disagree.
I read it very much as an abuse of a government position and coercion. It's more than heavily implied that she is requesting that Rumble give away private customer data unlawfully and take action, and without a warrant, or charge against a private citizen.
As far as I'm aware, she has no more right to ask Rumble for a private citizen's information than I have to call up your ISP and ask for your home address, it's literally none of her business, and would be illegal for them to do so.
You'd think MPs would learn their lessons about getting involved in ongoing investigations..... Actually, scratch that, they tend to never learn....

You'd think MPs would learn their lessons about getting involved in ongoing investigations..... Actually, scratch that, they tend to never learn.... As the request for information comes from a parliamentary committee (culture, media and sport), whose brief covers the area (social media) in which Rumble is active, I see it as not only acceptable for the chair of that committee to ask the questions she does, but I would expect that committee to put some effort in searching for such information.
A parliamentary committee can seek evidence under oath, and witnesses are liable to the laws of perjury.
But this is a polite letter of inquiry containing no threats and dealing with matters of relevance to the committee's current work...

If this was like you say, a "polite inquiry" into the evidence of his crimes, perhaps somewhere in the letter, she would have asked for such information and whether Rumble has any videos or evidence of such crimes? It seems that she was far more interested in getting him canceled and demonetized.
Instead, she asks whether Russel is being paid for his content and if he is, whether Rumble is going to demonetize him, which is entirely irrelevant to any investigation regarding the criminal allegations surrounding Russel Brand - who as of yet, protests his innocence and has not been charged.
I've no skin in this game, other than I believe people should be innocent until proven guilty, this goes for Philip Schofield as much as it does for Russell Brand.
People should not be subject to a trial by Media, and the government should not be abusing its power to promote cancel culture, which this clearly is an attempt at.
