A Labour government would accept migrants from Europe as part of a proposed deal with the EU to try to stop the small boats crisis. The party is considering taking a share of asylum seekers reaching Europe in return for the bloc taking back migrants who arrive illegally having crossed the Channel. Senior Labour party figures believe Britain is only likely to secure a returns deal, enabling it to deport Channel migrants, if it offers to share the burden of asylum seekers reaching the continent. The plan emerged as Sir Keir Starmer, the Labour leader, arrived in The Hague on Wednesday to visit Europol, the EU agency for law enforcement cooperation, before a trip to see Emmanuel Macron, the French president, next week. www.telegraph.co.uk/politics/2023/09/13/labour-keir-starmer-accept-migrants-eu-deal-small-boats/Well it's hardly news is it, Starmer will stop illegals crossing the channel in dinghies. He will allow them to come across on ferries, in fact he will probably put ferries on for them. If Starmer is our next PM, the UK will to all intense and purposes, become an EU state.

Prime Minister Starmer will be no different to previous ones, he is stuck in a globalist mindset and this is just another con to make you believe it is somehow giving a hoot about the rights of British people, which of course he actually doesn't. Unless of course they all rally round and tell him what he wants to hear, that being part of the EU is better than having individual rights. No room for the individual in the new world order I am afraid.

Labour have been quite open about it - they want more asylum seekers.

Labour have been quite open about it - they want more asylum seekers. Labour do not want any asylum seekers, that is probably the silliest comment you have ever made.

It is also a fact that thousands are coming anyway, we should deal with them properly and save millions of tax payer money.

We should tell em to fuck off, allowing anyone to walk into this country from the 'safe' EU or France is insane. These people are not refugees or asylum seekers they're criminals. Serious question, when in your opinion will enough be enough? England has been the most densely populated country in Europe since 2007 and the UK population is currently at an all time high of 68 million. Will 80 million be enough? maybe 100 million? When in your opinion will enough be enough?

If you make it easier and cheaper for people to come to the UK to claim asylum you are going to get more of them... That is a fact. What is a fact is that migration in huge numbers is world-wide. It's also a fact that the UK alone cannot stop people arriving here.
Getting involved with other countries and seeking solutions seems a sensible way to tackle what is not only a UK problem. The current government is good on hate rhetoric but, like all previous British governments, short on results for stopping unplanned immigration.
So why decry the efforts and ideas of others at this very early stage, who seem willing to extend efforts into international cooperation — which should be wider than just Europe — to ease (and, hopefully eventually, solve) the mass migration we see today...?
PS — It's estimated that as of November 2022, about half of one percent of the UK's total population were of pending asylum cases, stateless persons and refugees.

How will agreeing to take in more migrants from the EU ease or solve anything?

How will agreeing to take in more migrants from the EU ease or solve anything? But will these migrants you believe come from/via the EU actually increase the number of migrants the UK is currently housing ? Or are these just more scare tactics…?

Are you really expecting numbers to go down?. Labour had already said they want to make it easier and cheaper for migrants to enter the UK - now they are saying they want to take some of the EU's migrants as well. I think most honest people would look at that and expect numbers to rise...

So we should tell them all to F off! Where to?
We should return them to France! How?
We should stop them crossing the channel? How.
Loads of shouting and arm waving by the usual culprits, but no solutions offered. In the meantime all those unprocessed illegal migrants are sitting idle and costing a fortune.
Sounds to me like Sir Kier is the first person offering a pragmatic solution.
