I would much rather there was just one, UK team as there is with the USA, Germany and other multi state countries. we dont care what you would rather have vinny. you dont want a scottish parliament either , despite 75 % of us voting for one.
Having a uk football team wouldnt drive the scottish indentity away vinny....it would merely encourage more and more scots to support independence.

With hindsight do you feel the same number would vote for a Scottish Parliament again?

It must hurt to realise that we couldn't care that we lost. In the past we would really have been up for it - 1967 for example - but this match meant nothing. It was a work out for the upcoming fixtures that will count. A tough one in Spain and two more in which we could shoot ourselves in the foot and lose out, despite our unbeaten run so far. fully agree moray. We shouldnt be playing meangless friendlies against small "middle of the road " teams like wee england. Over something like 116 head to head matches they have beaten us 8 times more than we have them , and they have won one more international trophy than we have.
We had nothing to gain from this match. When we last played them in a meaningfull game in their own back yard they struggled to a draw with us , as thier extemely poor manager feared losing more than he wanted to win.
Strip out the foreign player , cash and managers from the english league and this is whats left..........a poor quality international team that lacks the world beaters that have epitomised footballing artists like argentina or brazil , or the mental toughness of the italians and germans.
Scotland needs to learn from the best , not give people like buccy something to cheer about as he hangs on scotlands every move in anticipation and anxiety.
When i read some of the comments on here.....i cant believe that british nationalism is so fragile that a scotsman walking onto the pitch to play for his country sends them into total hysteria.
The game marked the anniversary of the first ever international match played 150 years ago between Scotland and England.

England have a tougher group and beat Italy in their own back yard. Let's see if Scotland can go to Spain and win. I would hardly call rolling over the mighty Cyprus anything worth crowing about.

With hindsight do you feel the same number would vote for a Scottish Parliament again? No...it would be higher. The question from your point of view is would scots vote to abolish the scottish parliament?
If you look at the site what scotland thinks , and look at the red line on the graph , barely 8 % of scots over the period 1999 to 2021 supported abolishing the scottish parliament.

We shouldnt be giving any credibility to a middle of the road team like little england. Completely mental idea to hold this meaningless friendly at this point.
I suppose clarkes hands were tied by the muppets in the SFA as normal.
.....but.....on the flip side buccy , if you are telling me how important this friendly is to england fans , then quite obviously vinnys wet dream of a uk team isnt popular amongst fans of your country , and they would rather see the differnt countires playing against each other.
poor old vinny. out of touch and in a different reality to the rest of us.

Geez peace buccy. England havent had a tough qualifying group in my lifetime for either the world cup or the euroes.
Then when you get to the world cup , you get easy groups there ,beat teams like costa rica 6 - 0 , your press delude themselves you are world beaters , then you go on to the quarter finals which appear to be your glass ceiling and lose to croatia or other sides.
i nearly choked reading that . This is from a supporter of a nation that beat a team of camel herders at the last world cup 6-2 , struggled to a draw with a country that calls fitba "soccer" and treats soccer as a minority sport , then beat an aging welsh side , and we were being told this is it for england this is the one in between all the virtue signalling from lineker and aunti beeb.
I tell you buccy , you arent the best at football , but you do give us a laugh.

You can add to that low rank list that this nation just beat a nation full of blokes whom wear skirts along with the camel hearders McTommy.
