A very simplistic view for me.
There were human right abuses against the Russian minority in Ukraine, the US was behind the coup attempt of 2014 or do you deny there was a coup in 2014?
I have loaded clips before of Blinken and that other female US Hawk trying to get Klitscho involved and saying they don't give a fxxk about the EU, they are both of Jewish background out of former Soviet or Russian even Boris Johson is of this background from one of his aunts I think and they hate Russia with a vengeance.
Unless we are going to position our own nukes with iCBMs around the world with massive range we should have never have got in involved yet we are still a poodle. We are never going to do this because we can't afford it and France knows better even with their nuke weapons which is why they are more balanced with their statements.
President Yanukovych who fled the country in 2014 was elected on a promise to forge closer ties with Europe, and to seek EU membership. This was a major reason for Mr Yanukovych been elected to office, and the rest is history .. he Reneged on that promise, hence the mass demonstrations.
The fact that US politicians and senior security / CIA officials may have wanted Ukraine to pull away from Russian influence, does not alter Ukrainian public opinion, but it does however fit neatly into the conspiracy theory that "It was the USA what did it", a conspiracy theory almost exclusively put out by either the far Left or populist right wingers verging on neo Nazis.
As for human rights abuses, alleged to have been committed against the minority ethnic Russian population, I have found very little or no evidence of such, and I do not believe this to be true.
There was however disputes over language, and personally I can see BOTH sides of the argument, I understand the Ukrainian argument that Ukraine wishes to promote its own "Ukrainian" culture, and move away from a kind of imperial or Soviet dominance of all things Russian. On the other hand I accept that Ukrainians of ethnic Russian origin should be able to have Russian as an official language in some Provinces.
It is important here to stress that at no time in any Ukrainian Province was the Russian language ever banned from daily usage.
Another inconvenient fact is that half of Ukraine is historically is Russian Orthodox, the Catholic part is in the East which 100 years ago was largely Polish. There is even a massacre of Poles by Ukrainians back in '43.

Lets also not foget those biolabs in Marioupol that Vicky Nuland was grilled about in the senate by Rubio, none of them asked why in a country as big as Ukraine would you put them so close to Russia.........
I'm not saying Russia are the good guys just that they were provoked and whereas Bush was after Middle East Oil the Dems wanted to go after Russia and were willing to sacrifice Ukraine. The UK follows US lead in international affairs.
Until the US army takes to the front it is a proxy war.
