Well yes, many of us thought he was the man for the job. Turned out he was just a good liar. ... or like the rest of us he didn't realise what he was up against, the Remoaners have turned in to a powerful splinter group of cross party traitors, they are hell bent on sabotaging Brexit, you'd think by now they would just accept it and move on.
We've got Blair in the background forming his new 'rejoin the EU' brigade, and if Starmer/Labour win the next GE he's got a even bigger platform to promote his ideological claptrap, the fact that Sunak replaced Johnson and Truss tells you the Remoaners are working hard behind the scene's.
No. He just lied. He said he had struck a pragmatic deal on Brexit that worked for everyone. To "Get Brexit done" Turned out he had done nothing, literally nothing. We still had the border down the Irish sea, still no agreement on the ECHR or Quality control, taxation limitations. Nada nothing. Just an outright lie. A lie so bold I believed it for a while.

The EU haven't finished punishing us yet, they are waiting for Starmer puppet to take control then they can really get to work on us, if you can't see what's hiding in plain sight, you need to have a word with yourself.

NO! He said it was a done deal and agreed by everyone. He didn't say I'm yet to put it to the EU or the party. Everyone knew the GFI would be an impossible issue. So when Boris made his lie I assumed he must of agreed to continuing parity of standards with the EU thus making the border line unimportant. That made sense as most of our standards were the same anyway. But no, he just lied to get elected. Scumbag.

Whatever we think of leaders in any party we must remember where the real power lies and that is with the backroom boys. I believe it was Tony Blair who was blamed for politicising Whitehall by making sure that each department was Labour led. Now that may be disputed but all the signs are there that delays, obfuscation and downright neglect happens as soon as any Minister steps out of line with instructions outside of the institution's core belief. Are there any depts that are running efficiently? Rigid traditions/rules developed over decades to benefit the Civil Service rather than the country has brought us to the point where it doesn't matter who is elected since they are set up to carry the can for whatever Whitehall dictates. Dominic Cummings was a complete nutter but one thing he had sussed was those 'secretaries' etc. The most important part of their names was the secret part. Once he saw through them his days were numbered. They are a law unto themselves.
There will be those who declare that they are non partisan but I would suggest that the proof is in the pudding. Brexit was an electoral decision, perhaps a close one but a majority, reinforced with subsequent GEs. With a largely remain Whitehall we will never be able to properly succeed in the way that so many of us realised was possible. Until we sort out pretty much every institution from Health to Education to reclaim a balanced view we will never succeed at anything.
Rishi determined to get the top job even though he was only an MP for 5 minutes before becoming Chancellor. His PR game was clear for all to see but in fact he is just an office manager with apparent morals but little else. Perhaps his morality might be questioned by his lack of loyalty. We live in an age where PR is everything. The odd glitzy video doesn't remove the reality of his lack lustre performance pretty much everywhere else. I would suggest that he will be quite happy to lose the next election with his eye on his post PM career and the prospect of matching his wife's wealth.

The elected government is now so restricted that the restriction acts against the views held by the bulk of the population.
In other words, the civil service is now a publicly funded political organisation that sees the bulk of the UK public as its political enemy. The problem Blair left behind was never corrected by the Conservatives.

We don't actually have a active working government, they don't appear to have any clout to deliver anything, they can't sort out the illegal migrant boat crisis, they have no clout over the energy companies and their price hikes, they have no power to stop the BoE continuing to raise interest rates, they have no power to stop bank from closing down bank accounts because of customers political preference, they have no powers to Stop Just Stop Oil, they can't stop NHS/Rail strikes, they are basically a lame duck government.

Only an elected government whose aims line up with policy goals of the civil service will be allowed to have any clout, or indeed act substantially. These policy goals are decided in the civil service's HR department - the UK public at large have no say at all.

Precisely, if you look at the Civil Service they are the remnants of a past Labour government, it's a conflict of interest having a Conservative government that iTS Civic Servants are being run by a Labour party. They have managed to get at least three Tory ministers fired on the grounds of 'bullying' accusations, when in fact all the ministers were asking of them was to do the job they are told do.
It's ever more clear they are only going to take order from a Labour run government, so what was the point of any one voting Conservative when in fact they will be getting Labour.

Yes - but that party was led by Boris Johnson. I don't think there are any politicians of his calibre and appeal still around. Well yes, many of us thought he was the man for the job. Turned out he was just a good liar. He got done what he promised - leave the EU. And before you start complaining about the 'oven ready' deal he negotiated, the details of that were what was voted on at the General Election - the fact is that the electorate rewarded him with a landslide majority for that deal. That you do not think it a good deal is neither here nor there.

Deliver Brexit. You have to be joking. "He sealed his fate when he dared to stand up to them." That's even funnier. You openly admit that his balls were useless and his big talk about a deal was a lie, while trying to blame the EU for not accepting it. Stop digging. He lied.

Listen if you want to talk about liars let's talk about the biggest liar of all ... Starmer
You have the nerve to say Johnson was elected on his lies, and here we have Starmer who wouldn't know the truth if it came up and slapped him on the face.
He can't keep his story straight, Mr Flipflop, he tells people what they want to hear, then when he has to please a different kind of people he tells them the opposite.
If you want me to discuss liars with you, let's make it a even playing field.

It been suggested before that the elections confirmed support for Brexit, but I question this. People vote in elections for multiple reasons. I would suggest the election result was more to do with keeping Corbyn out of power than an affirmation of Brexit. Apart from that your post is a very cynical take on our parliament and its power.
