Wouldn't be surprised if other vessels have had this problem, thing is, if they're not in constant use, water can settle and stagnate. Longer something's out of use more time there is for Legionaires disease to take hold.

How do you know this is the only occasion it has been discovered in other vessels, you don't. Prove otherwise? "Don't you think it's odd these barges are transported all over the world to house oil rig workers and the likes, yet this appears to be the only occasion this problem has occurred, given the fact they are overhauled by health and safety 24/7" I will follow your lead, you made the statement it is up to you to support it.

Longer something's out of use more time there is for Legionaires disease to take hold. It has been known for a long time that legionella 'infects' water storage units in hospitals, boats and other places. The question is, why did the government allow people to board the barge before they had the report or if they had the report why did they put the asylum seekers lives at risk?

It doesn't always immediately show.
But anyway, are you opposed to mass accommodating illegal immigrants in high capacity accommodation whilst asylum claims assessed?

I could be with a competent government or body overseeing it. We now have a 'new' plan, they seem to be coming thick and fast don't they, of housing them in 'detention estates' these of course would have to be built but the idea is to have a doctors surgery, community centre and other facilities included. Purpose built ghetto's? But the real point is why do we have so many asylum seekers waiting for decisions.

Our own homeless have to make do with a sheet of cardboard and a shop doorway.

Legionella is a Bacteria that occurs naturally in Fresh Water , it was only identified after an outbreak in America back in 1976 at a convention of the American Legion hence its name, over 30 people died from what we now call Legionaries Disease because the bacteria had got into their lungs.
The media reported that one of the men put on board the Barge had TB, a disease we had wiped out years ago in the UK, however as we travel more to countries where TB is prevalent we run the risk of being infected and bring it back with us, likewise people that are infected with TB who arrive here in the UK from a country
It is now known that man who was among the men put on board has " Latent TB " which is not infectious and he was already being treated by a Doctor for its presence in his body, there is no way he could infect the others he was no danger to others.
Even if he had TB and was infectious you would have to be in his presence for some considerable time, you can't contract it by sitting next to an infected person on the bus , or that walks past you in the Supermarket, you are more likely to be infected by a member of your family that has TB and lives with you

We should be doing a lot more for the ordinary people of this country and not waging 'war' on asylum seekers to cover for ineptitude and dishonesty. I hope, when Labour get in power, they open up the book on what the Tories have been up to for the last 13 years and yes even Labour before them but I seriously doubt that is going to happen.

Economic migrants who seek asylum are covered by the same process as genuine asylum seekers and some are also murderers fleeing justice.
Seek changes to the 1951 convention to eradicate loopholes which economic migrants are exploiting. And replace the 1998 Human Rights Act with a better but ECHR compliant bill of rights which cannot be exploited by illegal economic migrants.
Too many people are dying, and the status quo is not doing enough to save lives.
Additionally, France and other countries need to start to licence the sale of rigid hull inflatable boats and other seaworthy craft with reasons for ownership and references.
That way sales go on a register. Smugglers are easier to identify and put out of business.

Jonksy does seem to have learnt very little from his ban sadly. As for the barge , you almost couldn’t make up just how shambolic and incompetent this government is. Serious government needs serious politicians focused on making the best decisions for the country rather than pandering to the tabloids. Can’t say I have huge faith in Labour but this shower just need to go now. It's been sabotaged by the lefty remoaners every step of the way, they don't want it to work, they are using these illegal migrants as a political football, they don't really care a shit about them, but if they can use them to score political points they'll do it.
This will all backfire on them, they forget a big majority of these male young single fit and healthy illegal migrants are in Labour run constituencies, and it's those areas kicking up the most fuss, the people are witnessing the Tories trying to tackle the problem, and we can also witness the lefty remoaners stopping any attempt to sort the problem out.
you misunderstsnd the agenda. In wales every one of them has a vote and they wont be voting tory will they. Pembroke is a tory marginal why do you think twatford shipped liads of illegals to a former RAF base there ??

I understand perfectly, and stupid Drakeford spouting off about giving them all £1600 a month for doing fuck all has sealed his own fate, he's stepping down at the next election, the problem being, he will only be replaced by another lefty woke snowflake, possibly even worse than him.

Why anyone would vote for the Westminster party which is controlled by people who hate them is beyond me.

They can't vote in the GE through refugee status. Only British citizens can vote. So they would also have to gain citizenship. www.gov.uk/elections-in-the-uk
