When Labour threw open the doors to mass immigration numbers went through the roof - and unfortunately have stayed there. Much of the immigration under NL was done to fill the jobs in an expanding economy.

Once the UK is officially established as a foreign shithole dumping ground for the worlds undesirables, I can see the leaving figures going through the roof, the UK will be unlivable, and the crime rate off the scales, it wont be safe to walk the streets day or night, your homes and business will become fortresses, and if Labour do get in it will be the final nail. Your very high fear level is showing, most Brits are built on firmer stuff.

Perhaps they think everyone on here was born yesterday. Your post suggests that in terms of commonsense you were born yesterday.

Can I just ask one thing, please do not put a picture of Tony Blair on this thread, his face sends shivers down my spine, he's like a Demon. That is self inflicted pain, and shows just how far away from reality you are when it comes to Tony Blair

The foreign born population of the United Kingdom has risen under EVERY Prime Minister sionce 1850 excluding the First World War period. Since the Conservites came to power in 2010, the foreign born population of the UK has gone from 13% to 17%, and this is in the period where Freedom Of Movement ended. Its all rather tiresome reading the claims that "Labour opened the doors to mass immigration" when in reality, it has been no different under any modern Conservative government. But I suppose that if you repeat a lie often enough, some people will believe it. That is correct because it’s new labour continuity and they take advice from him and his global cobblers foundation. So the Tory government members are just puppets, I wonder if you realise that you are not on planet earth?

So why were there large increases in immigration in two Steps during Tony Blairs reign of office ?
The two steps were (1) 1997/98 and (2) 2004
The first instance (1997-98) was primarily because the government changed an unfair law, the Primary Purpose Rule barred entry into the UK of thousands of people who were married to UK citizens. It brought us into line with most other countries. The change in law was a manifesto committment.
In the second instance (2004), it was as a result of 10 new member states joining the European Union, and therefore the citizens of those countries had the right, under Freedom Of Movement rules to come to the UK to live and work.
The Freedom Of Movement rules were part and parcel of The Maastricht Treaty, which was agreed to, and signed by THE GOVERNMENT OF JOHN MAJOR.
Upon the accession of the 10 new European states to the EU, the Blair government could have invoked "transitional rights", meaning that the UK could have delayed entry under FOM rules until 2009.
Inward immigration from outside the EU has continued at high levels throughout the reign of David Cameron, Theresa May, Boris Johnson and Rishi Sunak.
For me, and for most people, we have no problem with a Latvian sausage maker, a Polish plumber or a Czech waitress in the restaurant. We also have no problem with the Asian doctor or Caribbean nurse, especially when there are vaccancies, and jobs to be done and patients on waiting lists.

There were and increase aided and abeted by that thing who is blairs wife. I wonder how much she added to the blairs coffers? And then when her empire crashed owing fucking millions the good old UK taxpayers had to pick up the tab.

The EU allowed countires to put blocks on eastern european citizens , which most countires did , while blair not only didnt block eastern european migrants flooding the uk , he activley encouraged them to come.
You are deluded sid , if you think anyone either believes a thing you say on immigration under the last new labour government , or trusts the current new labour party.
Why do you tell fibs , or at best half truths like this?
The huge political cost of Blair’s decision to allow Eastern European migrants unfettered access to Britain
To understand why Britain became so opposed to migration from the EU, it’s key to understand a decision made by the Labour government in 2004, which has had lasting political repercussions.
In May 2004, the EU welcomed ten new member states – the majority from Central and Eastern Europe – in what was the largest expansion in the history of European integration. The UK was one of only three member states, alongside Sweden and Ireland, to open its labour market to these new EU citizens immediately.
The unexpectedly large migration from Central and Eastern Europe lent the impression that Labour could not control the borders. This is an issue which continues to dog the Labour party and contributed to electoral defeats in 2010 and 2015.

Between 1997 and 2010, net annual immigration quadrupled, and the UK population was boosted by more than 2.2 million
How immigration came to haunt Labour: the inside story
New Labour failed to predict a surge in immigration – and their miscalculation has shaped British politics ever since.

There is absolutely nothing in your post which I have not already explained I have explained that in reality, Freedom Of Movement could not have been stopped, ONLY delayed, and this is the truth of it. I have explained in my post that the UK government at the time COULD HAVE delayed the arrival of the new Eastern Europeans by up to 5 years until 2009. It WAS NOT Tony Blairs decision to "allow unfettered access to Britain", it was John Major ( as explained ), Tony Blair had no choice under the terms of the agreement and treaty. So I guess what you are attempting to say is that you blame Tony Blair for not delaying the arrival of Eastern European workers.

You're omitting another significant change by the Blairites, the radical liberalisation of the work permit regime for non-EU workers which took place in 1998.
Amongst other effects, this led to the admittance of over 50,000 nurses and other medical personnel from the Philippines between 2000 and 2003.
