You are a bright chap Pacifico and I know you will have taken the trouble to read up about CfD before posting now.
Tell you what, why don't you have a go at explaining to me your understanding of why contract for differences and how it works, and how you then reconcile your claim that offshore wind is being "subsidized" when CfD strike prices for off-shore wind fell as low as £39 (now likely to rise a little) and market wholesale power rate is currently around £100

The bigger you build them the cheaper the electricity from them becomes. The issue just comes down to how big can you do it. Obviously in Britain our people are too stupid to do the work, but in other countries they are steaming ahead. we have to use foreign firms for our wind power.

If you think they are wrong then perhaps you need to give Brussels a bell. The criteria used by the UK government in awarding subsidies for offshore wind energy projects favour UK over imported content. This violates the WTO’s core tenet that imports must be able to compete on an equal footing with domestic products and harms EU suppliers, including many SMEs, in the green energy sector.

I grant you it is possible that Pacifico didn’t understand Contract for Difference at the start of this thread. You can bet your bottom dollar that he does now and realises that his argument has imploded. So he tries desperately to divert attention and refuses to disclose repeatedly what he understands by CfDs. Why oh why could that possibly be do we think?
