You will I'm sure have seen the police wearing those little black & white union flags with a thin blue line running through it, as below. It commemorates police officers killed in the line of duty. Well it seems the Met have banned police officers wearing them, but gay pride badges are fine. The Telegraph understands that the Home Secretary Suella Braverman has demanded an explanation after hearing that officers were instructed not to wear the Thin Blue Line badge in case it offended the LGBT+ community. Is there any country in the world where the police would be told not to wear a tiny badge that depicted their national flag in case it offended minorities. We must be mad, literally mad. www.telegraph.co.uk/politics/2023/07/02/suella-braverman-met-police-thin-blue-line-badge-ban/

The whole point of Police uniform is to make them easily recognisable to members of the public. Standardisation of that uniform is an aid to that. They should all look the same. Most forces allow the display of medal ribbons.
IMO no other badges or non standard items should be on the uniform. Including the thin blue line flag, or any other flag, rainbow, or whatever.

I've just ordered the handcuff key. You never know when it might come in handy. ''The key has a locking pin and is compatible with all standard series UK handcuffs.''

Monte, what you get up to in the privacy of your own home is your business. Do you have a link? or more precisely a cuff link

I’d buy the tea mug but i’m afraid the local PCC and Chief Constable might take it as my approving of them when they both belong in the lower half of that badge along with the chief constable a few times removed who chose to run from the job before he was kicked out of it..

In 1989 I was involved in promoting a kind of rave club in sunny Portugal. The way we did it was with fliers, so each day we had to go out and chat up the most gorgeous looking women and hand them a few fliers. This a way if they were going to the club you could guarantee there would be a few following them. At the bottom of the flyer in your small print read a clause, "No Union Jack shorts". It was about the only clue on the flyer of what exactly this club was. The Porkers as we called them (Portuguese) were with us on this notion, since union jack shorts was a code for larger lout, and the Portuguese are known to be very traditional, church going and smartly dressed, a bit like perhaps what Britain looked like 1920s. Little did they know of the kind of club it was going to be. It was the proto Ibiza. Our club was packed out in no time.

The aforementioned lapel badges arrived this afternoon, and very nice they are. Only ordered them 24 hours ago, that's not bad.

There's nothing on the lapel badges, probably too small. However, if your really interested phone Enforce-Logic Ltd customer services on 01753 869 003.

Dont talk lefty rubbish there's a good chap. To suggest that a British policeman should not wear the small thin blue line emblem in recognition of fallen police officers suggests to me that you don't really understand what comradeship is.
