Okay, do that. Putting the breach of the Data Protection Act aside, I would be very interested to hear you 'go on' to tell us what other causes of action the manfrog has.

Relevance? - I thought the argument was that Banks, as private businesses, were entitled to take on whoever they liked?. If the 'values' of a bank were that homosexuality was a sin and they wished to have nothing to do with people like that surely that should be allowed in your world? No. For some years that has been illegal. I'm sure you know the reasons, so I wont divert the thread. I'm pretty sure it's illegal to discriminate on the grounds of political beliefs. It's certainly contrary to Human Rights.

So before then you were in favour of allowing banks to discriminate against gays - after all a private business should be allowed to decide for themselves who they do business with. Would you extend this idea to energy companies - should they be allowed to disconnect customers from the grid if their values do not align with the company? No because that's discrimination. Not liking an individuals views is not the same as group discrimination.

How do you feel about the tax payer giving poor Nigel £5m? Excellent value for money considering how much he's saved us all. Give him a Knighthood as well. I strolled right into that one. 😅 😂 🤣

It's certainly contrary to Human Rights. Let's be generous and suppose that you're right. What do you expect the damages award for the mental distress caused to someone who has had his account downgraded would be? £2,000? Higher?

Erm ... The manfrog can't take his case and simultaneously be part of a class action lawsuit for the same actions. As for the class action lawsuit, what are the grounds for that? The government has said it is going to introduce regulations to stop this happening to people in the future. Obviously, that means there are no regulations currently in place banning it. So, if what the bank did wasn't illegal under current regulations, what is the point of taking a class action lawsuit? oops
What is the code of conduct for the banking industry? The Bank acknowledges the need to uphold the integrity of every transaction it enters into and believes that honesty and integrity in its internal conduct would be judged by its external behaviour. The Bank shall be committed in all its actions to the interest of the countries in which it operates.
** Oh dear Darling, looks like the banking industry is in BIG trouble. ^^

Really? Are you that uneducated and stupid? That has nothing to do with the amount that Farage will be awarded for mental distress. You've already told us that the courts will put him in the same damages bracket as people who have suffered post-traumatic distress and similar mental illnesses - that's enough.

Then we have data protection breaches
Class action lawsuits
Slander
Liable
... need I go on?

He can't be part of a class action lawsuit if he sues the bank in his own right. He has to do one or the other. So, that's not 'something else' he has. 'Slander' is the biggy. Even if he is successful in his claim for breach of the Data Protection Act (which he probably will be) and a claim for discrimination he will only receive peanuts. On the other hand, he stands to gain millions if he can prove 'slander'. So, when and how did the bank slander him?

This is different from libel claims, where you are only required to prove that you have suffered serious harm to your reputation.
** Financial loss..... YES he will have suffered financial loss, he'd have to transfer all his banking to another bank.
** Serious harm to your reputation..... YES he's on the front page of every major news media outlet, because of the gossiping CEO of Coutts bank giving personal details out about a customer to the BBC (Farage)

What was the libellous statement made by Coutts? It stands to reason that Coutts can't be sued for defamation if it didn't make a defamatory statement. So, what was it?

Well, Fairy? What statement made by Coutts defamed the manfrog?

Wait a minute, I thought this has all been a great victory for Mr Farage. Enhancing his reputation as the people's champion. We've even had talk of him becoming Tory leader and riding the crest of popularity all the way to number 10.

Just Google 'liable' and Slanderous', and maybe chuck in Class action lawsuit, data protection breaches, so on and so on ..
Farage is spoilt for choice.

In fact, the gammons have been telling us he will be elated. He's going to have a hard job finding a doctor to certify that he has suffered emotional trauma of the kind necessary to get damages that aren't mere peanuts.
