Because he failed to meet the conditions for having the account. That was the reason they gave. Not to Farage they didn't It was only a short time after Farage getting the news journalist award and this was a way of the blob punishing him, wasn't it?

Yes yet if he has had a relationship with them and acted professionally in conducting his account unless the police ask for it, why should his account be closed? Because he failed to meet the conditions for having the account. That was the reason they gave. Correct, it was the reason they gave, and a reason they may come to regret. When Coutts decided to cease business with Farage he had more money in his account than he had in years past, apparently his current worth is about £4 million. Farage has testimony from Coutts customers who say they regularly fail to meet the minimum balance but have never received so much as a letter. In picking on Farage, Coutts have fucked up big style. And they know it.

Unless there are extra costs for admin on his account because of his PEP status, so they've decided that it's not economical.

Because he failed to meet the conditions for having the account. That was the reason they gave. Usually some form of correspondence happens when a bank wants to address a very long term customer over their account. The fact that this is what they told the media only demonstrates the fact that this isn't mere incompetence. Does it? www.helpwithmybank.gov/help-topics/bank-accounts/opening-closing-inactive-bank-accounts/closing-a-bank-account/closing-notification.html#:~:text=Is%20this%20legal%3F,include%20inactivity%20or%20low%20usage. The bank closed my checking account and did not notify me. Is this legal? Yes. Generally, banks may close accounts, for any reason and without notice. Some reasons could include inactivity or low usage. Review your deposit account agreement for policies specific to your bank and your account. If you believe your account was wrongfully closed, you can file a written complaint with the Office of the Comptroller's (OCC) Customer Assistance Group.

Nigel has the bit between his teeth and is off on a crusade, good for him, Coutts have lied ( or the BBC has) about why his account was closed and he now has evidence of that.

I merely pointed out that a bank will usually communicate with their long term customers, especially those with business accounts. The fact that they didn't and the fact that they chose to ignore Nigel's attempts to seek clarification, as well as the fact that they shared his private information with the media, highlights the fact that the bank is very much in the wrong. We know why they did this, and it has exposed the corruption in the establishment, where people are debanked for challenging this establishment within the law.
The issue is that we have twisted people who support the bank's actions, because it's another means of praising the anti-democratic and extremely corrupt EU fascists.

Some interesting excuses by Coutts... Nigel Farage’s bank accounts were closed down after Coutts decided his views “do not align with our values”, documents obtained by the former Ukip leader show.
A reputational risk committee “exited” him after considering a dossier detailing Mr Farage’s comments about Brexit, his friendship with Donald Trump and his views on LGBT rights among many reasons he was not “compatible with Coutts”.
The background briefing paper even made reference to Mr Farage’s friendship with Novak Djokovic, the former Wimbledon champion, as evidence that he was not as “inclusive” as the bank.

Your link is American. Nigel's bank account was in the UK and would be subject to UK law.

I actually feel sorry for the BBC reporter, Simon Jack, who was stitched up like a kipper by Coutts - OK you could say he should have been more circumspect but he thought he had a big scoop when all along he was being played.
It's fucked his professional reputation.
