And i’ve no idea how wealthy you have to be to be offered that tier, but half a million was not enough in the early months of the national lottery, dad knew someone who collected that in a syndicate win back then. Sixteen million was a few years earlier (my auntie Sheila collected that when she sold her pharmaceutical manufacturing business after her husband and co director died of cancer caused by his research work there) but i think she told them to sod off and went and opened an account abroad …

The BBC news column omitted to say why 9 other banks refused to give Farage an account, nor why for the past ten years Farage has not kept funds in credit to meet their criteria but they didn't find that a problem. But there again it is the BBC reporting, no chance of a full unbiased report there. Nor did the article touch on why three members of Farage's family have had their bank accounts closed.

Its called swerving and putting it all back on the Farage. It still doesn't explain all the other ones they have closed either.

The BBC and pretty much every news paper.

As I suggested a couple of days ago, in cancelling such a high profile person as Farage the banks may have bitten off more than they can chew. Since Farage had his bank account/s cancelled it's been all over the press and the government are at last asking questions with at least two ministers demanding the government take action against banks who cancel people for no obvious reason. Hopefully Farage and people like him who have been cancelled will receive an apology and significant compensation.

I doubt Farage will because he lost access to a privileged account for having insufficient funds. But just maybe some more deserving folks might gain something from the light shone on this subject. Hopefully some poor socialist types who lost their accounts for being scum of the earth undeserving poor who were unable to borrow or save money.

GB News had a list of people who over the past couple of years have had their bank accounts quietly closed with little or no notice and no reason given other than 'it's a commercial decision'. There weren't many names on the list, six or seven, and every one of them had right wing views. They have openly dissed all this gender nonsense, or criticised woke, and all voted for Brexit. Coincidence? Maybe. The presenter, Patrick Christies I think, asked the TV & radio audience if there was anyone out there who is left wing and had their bank account closed to please get in touch with the programme. As far as I'm aware no one has, yet.

Usually that the bank can't make money from them. 24,000 accounts shut last year. All for voting Brexit Lol.

Reasons behind being unbanked In 2020, The FCA financial life survey report found that a significant number of people from a BAME background (4%) are unbanked, compared to people from a white UK background (2%). When broken down between minority ethnic groups, the report found that the unbanked rates were highest in those from an Asian background (6%) and mixed heritage consumers (5%). All those Poor Asian BAME people who held right wing views and voted Brexit. Lol.

Three members of Farages family have also had their bank accounts closed. A few days ago an Anglican vicar had his bank account closed because he criticised gender ideology. link
Do you even understand how dangerous a cashless society would be? Can you imagine how powerful banks would be if no one had cash. Lefties who think it's funny that Farage is being treated like this are thick. They don't seem have the gumption to realise that if it can happen to Farage it can happen to them. Pillocks.

You're the one making unsubstatiated claims whilst admitting to the fact that you have no evidence. Posting animated images instead of retracting your claim only demonstrates a lack of courage, as well as a lack of intelligence for expecting such a wild claim to go without scrutiny. I understand that it may be easier to live in denial rather than face the reality (the opposite of made up fantasy) of the situation.

It would appear that Coutts have discussed Nigel Farage's Bank Account with the BBC, or else the BBC have simply fabricated the details in their news article. It struck me that this is a client confidentiality matter, did Farage give the Bank permission to disclose to the BBC that his funds were below the minimum deposit level? additionally why didn't Coutts give this as a reason to Farage when they gave him notification to quit.
This is an extract from the terms and conditions of a confidential current account with Coutts Bank,
1.6 We will not share your information with anyone
outside NatWest Group except:
a) where we have your permission;
b) where required for your product or service;
c) where we are required by law and to law
enforcement agencies, judicial bodies,
government entities, tax authorities or regulatory
bodies around the world;
d) with other banks and third parties where required
by law to help recover funds that have entered
your account as a result of a misdirected payment
by such a third party;
e) with third parties providing services to us,
such as market analysis and benchmarking,
correspondent banking, and agents and
subcontractors acting on our behalf, such as the
companies which print our account statements;
f) with other banks to help trace funds where you
are a victim of suspected financial crime and you
have agreed for us to do so, or where we suspect
funds have entered your account as a result of a
financial crime;
g) with debt collection agencies;
h) with credit reference and fraud prevention agencies;
i) with third party guarantors or other companies
that provide you with benefits or services (such as
insurance cover) associated with your product or
service;
j) where required for a proposed sale, reorganisation,
transfer, financial arrangement, asset disposal or
other transaction relating to our business and/or
assets held by our business;
k) in anonymised form as part of statistics or other
aggregated data shared with third parties; or
l) where permitted by law, it is necessary for our
legitimate interests or those of a third party,
and it is not inconsistent with the purposes
listed above.
I believe that Coutts are in breach of their own terms and conditions and look forward to Farage suing the arse of them.
