Who are these Labour, you speak of, Toejam? I'm one of Sheepy's Bolsheviks. We ain't after little you, you are just a tiny cog. They would drop you at a moments notice. I can't begin to tell you how relieved I am to hear that, Sheeps.

As we taught the native Americans, you can say what you like, but the Britons were here first. You didn't teach the native Americans anything, Sheeps. Your ancestors were far too busy being hanged for stealing a loaf of bread. Funny they are repeating what we told them then, true many of them were and we haven't forgotten it either.

You should be thrown out of here. I don't think I've ever read anything so disgusting! Only kidding, Sheeps. I haven't a clue what you're trying to say.

Think of it as encouragement from an adult to a timid child , in developing your political backbone whilst helping educate you. I'm sure to thrive under your tutelage, Toejam. Keep the 'likes' coming. They sustain me. Unless I get a like for ''Gaelic bread'' I'm going home and I'm taking my bat and ball with me.

language is the highest form of cultural expression , So, why don't the Scots speak Gaelic? Or are you saying that English spoken in a Scottish accent is a language by itself? If that's the case, there are as many languages as there are regional accents in the UK. long story , probably best kept for the scottish threads. Essentially gaelic was repleaced as the language of scotland by the norman french and their descendants over centuries , as anglo saxon was in england , and a new hybrid language half french introduced which was called in a pr stunt english in england and scots in scotland.
Gaelic hasnt been the language of the scottish court since the 14th century , or the majority of people since the 16th century , but evidence of its existence across scotland remains in place names today.
for example close to the castellan of Dunbar is a knoll called "cnoc na h-aire" (knockenhair) which means the watch hill in english. The north west is self explanatory , south west we have killphillian in wigtown or cille faolan...church(cell) of the little wolf and so on.
So going back to scots , this is a language that has the same common french root as modern english , but diverged over the centuries from what we now call middle english into scots.

Not only that he has opened a proper undercover can of worms, good on him. Part of an article in todays Telegraph. More than 1,400 British companies are members of a corporate diversity scheme which played a part in Coutts’ thinking about whether to close Nigel Farage’s bank account. B Corp - a network which originated in the United States but which now counts 1,447 members headquartered in the UK - urges its corporate members to stand against “all forms of oppression” and “dismantle racist systems, policies, practices, and ideologies”. The scheme provides a certification for businesses which meet “high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability”, with Coutts joining in 2021. Coutts’ accreditation was achieved under chief executive Peter Flavel, who was forced to resign last week in relation to the scandal of Mr Farage’s accounts being closed. Under a subheading of “Climate Change/B CORPS/ Carbon Net Zero”, it states: “the comments uncovered are not in line with banks [sic] view on the above.” It goes on: “He does have strongly and in many cases controversial, publicly held views on many aspects of policy, particularly climate & race, and although no legal or other censure has occurred it is clear they do not align with our purpose”. Sounds like Common Purpose under another name and also needs shutting down.

Like politics , history , legal systems , linguistics doesnt seem to be your forte either does it ? Thats why sometimes darling , despite my encouragement of you being educated , i can see where you former teachers struggled.
At least they got nine grand a year fees .

When is this rebellion going to happen, Toejam? Are you waiting for the Irish to come over and do it for you? And English spoken with a Scottish accent is still English.

back on topic, good article here about what the thread is largely all about and what you were laughing at , freedom of speech...
Protect Free Speech For Everyone, Not Just the Metropolitan Elite
I’ve spent the past couple of weeks trying to whip up support for Nigel Farage in his battle against woke British banks.
Closing people’s accounts for expressing the ‘wrong’ views is a brutally effective type of censorship that originated in Communist China and has no place in a supposedly free country like ours.
My first thought was to create a meme based on the old advert for the National Lottery.
A giant hand holding a pair of rainbow-coloured scissors would emerge from a high street bank.
Then it would cut up the credit card of an unsuspecting member of the public, with the caption: “It could be you!”
But I realised this wouldn’t capture the threat posed by this sinister new form of cancel culture because not everyone is equally at risk.
The people most in danger of losing their accounts are those with unfashionable views, whether it’s the former leader of the Brexit Party or Richard Fothergill, a Church of England vicar who was de-banked by the Yorkshire Building Society after he objected to its promotion of trans ideology.
I think that’s why almost no one on the Left of British politics has taken Nigel’s side in this dispute.

are you an zany part of the new labour 24 % darling?
A YouGov opinion poll last week revealed 24 percent of Labour voters think banks should be allowed to remove customers who have personal or political beliefs that don’t align with their values.
Labour leader Keir Starmer did eventually mutter something about how no one should be refused banking services because of their views, but it had to be dragged out of him.
Think how different the reaction would have been if it had been Jeremy Corbyn who’d been de-banked and not Nigel Farage, particularly if the lender then leaked confidential details of his finances to the BBC in an effort to pretend the reason he’d lost his account was for purely “commercial reasons”.
The entire Liberal Establishment would have been up in arms, demanding the head of the bank’s CEO.
The same people who’ve been sniggering at Nigel’s misfortune would have been loudly proclaiming that having a bank account is a basic human right, like access to water and electricity.
