Nottingham, like most crime black spots, is Labour run.
The Tories don't like villainy, so they crack down on it. The left see it as a career opportunity for their legions of middle class social work supporters and set up support units to help the muggers and smack heads talk through the problems. It does not reduce the crime rate, but at least the villains know why they do it.

The interesting aspect of that DM article is not that the Lords proposed amendments, but that these may have sufficient Tory support to become part of the law. Yep the usual lefty woke arseholes hash. They only enter into debate when it is to obstruct UK law. Any other time they would sign in and head to the bar and get pissed at our expense The fiction section is overcrowded with your posts.

Tories get elected into the richer areas of the country. The Office of National Statistic's data shows Nottingham's gross disposable income is £12,445 per head - the lowest in the UK. Nottingham also has the lowest employment rate of all major UK cities, with just 57 percent of all 16 to 64-year-olds in work. Unemployment and and low levels of income, a perfect combination for crime.

Like most Labour run areas, Nottingham is full of dimwitted thugs who cannot even succeed as thieves

I'm trying to make the point to you that Brexit was not a left right issue that you keep trying to portray it as. You don't seem to be understanding that point very well. And please stop the name calling. You have no point hash like all the bitter remnants.

Labour always has traditionally attracted more votes from poorer areas, usually working class areas, areas where opportunities are not brilliant, and where there is more poverty per capita than in other areas. Most of our big citys are Labour run, including London, Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds and Sheffield. So YES, people in poorer areas do automatically suffer from higher crime rates, its the same all over the world It would be nice if we could all live in nice affluent Tory areas with nice suburbs and Tennis clubs

Do not confuse the right to have a religious belief as equatable to the right to have that religious belief protected from criticism. Most religious beliefs contain as an intrinsic part of their belief system a them and us outlook and specifically lack tolerance of other faiths. If there is a right to be free from hatred based on faith, or a lack of it, then there are several religions that break that right directly in their teachings. Having a faith is not a get out of jail free card to disseminate views that are clearly hatred inciting, if they are then that right belongs to everyone. You make some interesting points, and in essence I would say "criticism" acceptable, words or actions specifically designed to stir up hate or tensions between people of differing faiths, not acceptable. Criticising the contents of The Quoran or Bible is something I not only accept, but indulge in myself. What both The Bible and The Quoran state in regards to people of other faiths is open to much debate and interpretation, for example The Quoran teaches Muslims that Christians and Jews are "of the book", and should be respected, meaning of course that all three faiths are Abrahamic faiths. Yet in other parts of The Quoran, and also in The Bible there are other references which can only be described as intolerant towards others. lI base my life on instincts of Humanity mixed with common sense - I am of no faith, but I respect all faiths, and the world would be a better, safer place if everyone thought the same. "words or actions specifically designed to stir up hate or tensions between people of differing faiths, not acceptable." Islam and Judaism are full of such words and they are specifically designed to stir up hatred of other faiths especially idolatory of any sort. It is impossible to protect faith by the use of laws that apply to all in equal measure. Poor old Kate had to endure a religious zealot ignoring her proffered hand for a handshake after said zealot had just shaken hands with William. That is an action that stirs up hatred against women and Islam and Judaism are especially bad for that.
