I’m a little unsure how police numbers would help on this crime as reported.
Police don’t sit on public transport where this crime occurred.
Unless someone is suggesting a complete police state where police sit on any public transport vehicle and carry out regular searches of peoples bags?

That is an interesting point and one I generally agree with however the caveat is that many of the 'consequences' are incitement and disruption led. The case of the ballet dancer being a member of a legal political party is a case in point. The freedom for many to enjoy her dancing was interrupted and destroyed by campaigners who could not countenance her continuance as an artiste. The result is that 'the few' dictated what the many can see and hear and decided for everyone else the acceptability of a person based solely on what the campaigners believed her beliefs to be. It is a bit of a minefield as religious belief is given legal protection but political belief (and is there really any difference) is not protected. It is a strange outcome as religious belief is mostly clearly defined whereas political belief is an ever changing unfixed bundle of ideas. |

We used to have Transport Police in plain sight but i admit they were bugger all use when i tried to report seeing the men wanted in connection with Jill Dando's murder arguing with a ticket collector over a penalty fare. These days they're not even visible any more |
