Perhaps you didn't know that the Baron made a mobile that he could sell for a tenner. The key selling point was that it didn't work. Perhaps this new idea is to show why all inventions don't work. I am crap at electronics and like the idea of building my own phone, but Baron's silly arsed bragging turns me off immediately. It is like he is 9 years and hoping that someone will give him ten bob to go to the Saturday Morning pictures What a pathetic person you are. You sound like some pissed off woman on her periods.

E-Waste has turned some parts of China into nothing more than a toxic wasteland. The west should be ashamed of how they have dumped their E-waste onto China.
China: The electronic wastebasket of the world
A polluted river flows past a workshop that is used for recycling electronic waste in the township of Guiyu, June 10, 2015.
I bet they have cleared that up since that picture was taken.

And how does that overcome the time delay (LAG)? Simple because it doesn't...Even a child knows that a dish has to be in the line of sight and lets not even mention interference problems. And cost even on the surplus market it would cost several thousand bucks for al that gear. Those boat dishes have a dynamic alignment system to cope wit the waves. They cost an arm and a leg. I've no idea how much it cost him. The surplus market has many things people don't understand and are chucking them away. Some guy on youtube was given a full electron microscope for free. Some university department was throwing it out. A dish rotator on the surplose market is araound a grand BVL. He would have saved money by purchasing a cheap chinky knock-off astro telescope with planet finder and reworked the tripod with finder for his purpose. About a 100 bucks or less on the used market. And the square looking dishes have theor own enomalies of aligning to the off-set reflection of a sat and not directly to the sat.

It never ceases to amaze me what wonderful things you can get from China for a fraction of what you would normally expect to pay. I think one of these American guys even made his own using a 3D printer and some stepper motors.

The guy who told me how to build a Therimin built his current 3D printer from a couple of old ink jets rescued from the Tip, a Raspberry Pi, and a LOT of Meccano.
The tricky bit, as I recall, was the "feed" for the filament - there was a lot of trial and error before he'd got the speed + heat (heating element from a Poundland glue gun!) combination sorted. (He doesn't even buy the plastic any more - adapted a a paper shredder and now uses old milk bottles..).
He's got a very niche side hustle going, in his retirement (he was a professor at Nottingham University) - printing conversion parts for model makers to turn one kind of model kit (tanks, aircraft, etc) into another. He's in some demand, it seems.
At some point, he's promised me a new handle for my walking stick (or "Strollin' Iron" as I prefer to call it..) - a copy of the one Claude Rains killed Lon Chaney Jr with in "The Wolf Man".

I bet they have cleared that up since that picture was taken. Not so BVL....The amount of annual domestic e-waste generation in China alone reaches approximately 10.1 million tons......Thus overtaking the U.S. as the largest e-waste producing country.
EDIT.....Here are five environmental effects of e-waste that you might not realize.
Toxins Contaminate Soil. One of the most obvious ways that e-waste affects the environment is through soil. ... Water Pollution. ... Damage to the Atmosphere. ... Drain on Resources. ... Health Issues in Humans and Wildlife.

I mean I bet they clear that patch up in the picture. Chinese streets are usually very clean and tidy, no litter, no graffiti even in the poorest areas.

The damage has already been done even if they have cleared it since the pic was taken BVL The thing is you can visit a street in China, come back in 5 years to the same place and not recognise it. The rate of development over there is incredible. What comes out when they are finished is immaculate. Chances are that picture was taken by a stock photo seller and now it is becoming increasingly rare. News agencies carry on using these old pictures of China when in reality it was just work in progress. They hold the world record for the number they have got out of poverty. That street is very much the old China. It was very poor like Africa only a few short years ago.

North Korea is very poor, China is far richer. In China the The flats are nice, often with traditional Chinese wood panelling inside.

Many parts of China that were prosperous before the pandemic are no more than a disposal area for cargo containers with no signs in sight of it getting any better. Tell me BVL what other countries have had to erect anti suicide nets on some businesses where the workforce are treated as the lowest of the low? You paint a good picture of modern China but the reality is a far cry from that rosy picture you try to portray.

This is the last post I will do here on China because you are just in some endless loop of spewing out shit on a country which is not even the subject of the thread.
I'll just point out you are totally wrong. Bringing the poor areas out of poverty is a top priority for the government now and has been for some considerable time, especially with President Xi, who himself lived for many years in the poor country areas trying to hide from the cultural revolution who were executing intellectuals. He understands their position perfectly. He's a very decent and moral man. Get you nose out of the Daily Mail or your brain will rot!

I'm happy to debate these subjects but this is off topic here and since it is the Mind Zone I do not wish to piss off either the mods or readers, who are expecting to learn about building satellite ground stations.
