I know I am wasting my time but you still don't get it, firstly Breaching Covid Regulations which were only temporary and no longer in force were not classed as a Crime a Criminal Offence , an Offence yes but not a recordable offence dealt with by a Fixed Penalty Notice issued normally on the spot in many thousands of cases right across the UK, if they paid the fine the end of the matter full stop, if they elected to go to Court the Court decides the outcome Not quite the full story If you chose to pay the fine nothing more was ssid. If you chose to contest the handing out of the FPN - lets say you were looking for an optician - and the court found against you, welcome to your new criminal record. The police of course chose to admit it should have slapped Cummings with an FPN but that it was now not in tbe public interest to do so.

FPN's have always given the recipient two ways of dealing with them admit you committed the offence and pay the fine, if you think that you did not commit an offence you can ask a Court to decide , even if the Court finds against you the outcome will probably be a higher fine and a victims surcharge But as I pointed before FPN's are a means of dealing with " Non Recordable Offences you do not get a Criminal Recordable full stop " even if Cummings had been issued with an FPN no criminal record , Boris was issued with one no criminal records, if you were issued with one no criminal record

Johnson should also be investigated under the official secrets act, whether by stupidity or design he has a lot of questions to answer.

Thousands of drivers are issued with speeding tickets an FPN every year, most discharge it by paying the fine and accepting the penalty points, the only record of those points will be held on their Driving Licence Record held by the DVLA If you accept you did commit the offence you pay the fine to the issuing authority be it the Police or another enforcement agency they are the only ones that will have a record on their systems to say you have paid it, or if you opt to go to Court again it is all explained on the FPN if you are be found guilty, that does not mean you have a Criminal Record the outcome will be recorded on the Courts records, none of that information is put on the Criminal Records Bureau. The Criminal Records Bureau is updated by the Police every time they arrest a suspect taken to a Police Station where they are photographed, fingerprinted and DNA taken is sent to the CRB for storage if convicted at Court that record is kept until you pop your clogs. When it comes to DBS checks for certain occupations that does not mean automatically that if you have a Criminal Conviction that you will be refused employment, it depends what for and when that is where the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act comes in , after a certain length of time depending on what the offence or offences were they are classed as spent , but the advice is it is better to be honest and tell the prospective employer all about it anyway. As it states at the end of the article , none of that information relating to FPN's is placed on the Police National Computer
