Army considers scrapping ranks including Guardsman and Rifleman because they are too masculine! I'm almost speechless, soldiers are by their very nature fuckin masculine! It's no secret that diversity quotas and woke adverts are to blame for recruitment falling off a cliff. The army need to attract fit young men, but woke recruitment adverts are almost exclusively aimed at black gay and female recruits. This pillock General Sir Patrick Nicholas Yardley Monrad Sanders, I shit you not that's his name, wants to scrap the name 'Guardsman' and 'Rifleman' because they're not inclusive! Can you belive this shit? What is it with VSO's? With the possible exception of General Dannatt, as soon as they get a staff job they loose the fuckin plot. The utter madness these people display is far more of a concern than merely a name.
All I can conclude is they have all been brainwashed and I suspect the brainwashing was done by the education system. You and I would have only experienced woke lite at school.

This guy, this woke General is ex Royal Green Jackets and they were a respected regiment. Sadly in the late 1990's or early 2000's they were amalgamated into the Rifles. Bloody sad.
The reason VSO's have lost the plot is because there are no wars to fight, which is great as long as it stays that way, but it wont it never does. In the 1970's 80's and early 90's we were constantly training for war in Germany, and because of Northern Ireland we had the best FIBUA troops in the world [IDF may disagree, moot point] But it's all gone, not just the numbers but the experience, it's all gone. Today as far as the MoD and VSO's are concerned, recruiting black trans poster people is far more important than any thought of war. To be honest, we might as well scrap the army because trust me, a woke army is as much use as an officer with a fuckin map.

No kidding, we used to call it Thetford I think, we only went there once, this would be... late 70's probably. Actually my lasting memory is quite painful, the Gurkhas made chicken curry in the field. They were and hopefully still are, absolute animals. And probably the best troops in the world. Yes after the mass amalgamations during the 1990's regiments always referred to themselves as their previous regiment, if you follow. It wasn't so bad for us, but it was tragic how the infantry were sliced and diced. |

Actually my lasting memory is quite painful, the Gurkhas made chicken curry in the field. They were and hopefully still are, absolute animals. And probably the best troops in the world. Yes after the mass amalgamations during the 1990's regiments always referred to themselves as their previous regiment, if you follow. It wasn't so bad for us, but it was tragic how the infantry were sliced and diced. REME seemed to be gutted. They used the AA for vehicles at the Thetford camps. Same with the catering corps. Everything privatised. I've fed quite a few infantry regiments as well as Marines and Paras. |

Honestly years ago there was a German chap 'Wolfgang' he could get his Bratty van anywhere on Soltau Training Area, he was a legend and lives on in army folklore. SLTA closed when I was in, post Gulf 1 mid 90's probably. Fuck knows what Wolfgang did after that, he should have an Mod Pension, he did more for moral than the NAAFI that's for sure. |

Apart from the occasional Warrior it was all Landrovers, Pinzgauers and Vikings. I really liked the Vikings until I heard they were made of fibreglass.  |
