The Mail is no more than a Tory propaganda sheet — unfortunately, the promised honours didn't materialise, so maybe it'll be less blatantly biaised for a while...
If that was the case why was the DM spearheading the witch-hunt on Johnson?
The DM would not let the story drop, they chipped away and away and away, it was getting fuckin stupid, so you explain why a 'Tory propaganda sheet' was instrumental in bringing down Johnson?
Haven’t you realised that there is no longer a cohesive and solid Conservative party? It’s become a a gaggle of tired old men and squabbling factions, each interested in gaining influence and power. When the Mail realised Currygate was a non-starter compared to all that had been going on in No10 during Johnson’s tenure, has freed up the Mail to choose its next champion and possible provider of honours…

I'm sure you will realise, like the rest of us how utterly stupid that 'theory' is.

Johnson made no secret of wanting to promote Paul Dacre personally, first with a botched attempt to make him the head of Ofcom. He is also rumoured to want to give Dacre a peerage. As it turns out, even the mighty Mail was unable to push through the prime minister’s resignation honours. The Mail will no doubt now turn on Sunak while it looks for a Johnson return or replacement…

That's absolutely terrible Sid. The place should be closed down immediately. Where do we send the people currently detained there? Home?

Sorry but you do not understand Tory propaganda in newspapers. First off the The Mail is a business, its priority is to sell newspapers. Second. Picking a winner or a loser and backing or not backing them is all part of the system, just as long as they can keep people buying their paper. Third. Much of the Mail's propaganda is either subtle and or by insinuation. The sort of propaganda that becomes apparent to the sort of individuals who think they get the point by 'reading between the lines'. The amount of times their position is against Labour shows where they are politically. Kicking loser Tories in the nuts is allowed.
