And again you post a link to a source so notoriously unreliable that anyone who does not inhabit your thought bubble (or should I say emote bubble? lol) is never going to bother reading it. You lack the intelligence to understand that your arguments might be more persuasive if supported by links to more reliable sources. In fact, if you could find the same information posted in sources your opponents are more likely to trust, you'd actually be far more persuasive and might win more arguments. But you lack the brains to have figured that out. Yet again Adolf you attack the source and not the content. How droll that is a new one for our books NOT. When you post links to such unreliable sources, don't be surprised if we dont look at them.

Well if there are many other more reliable sources than the Mail saying the same thing, the intelligent thing to have done is to have included some of those sources or used them instead. As for what Starmer may or may not have said, I gave up paying too much attention to what he says long ago because I already know him to be a proven liar. I am more interested in what he does than what he says. When it comes to proven liars talk is cheap and wholly unreliable, and actions really do speak louder than words. But if anyone feels the need to bombard me with more info telling me what I already know about Starmer, they need to present me with a more credible source than the Mail. You have a list of approved sources? I have stated some of my sources of information in response to you elsewhere, which you appear to have ignored, so I am not repeating myself. But there are many sources out there aside from the ones I most heavily use. Most are far more reliable than the Daily Mail.

Daily Mail Headline From 1938 Draws Comparisons With Current Reporting Of Calais Migrant Crisis This Daily Mail Headline From 1938 Is Eerily Similar To Today's Media Coverage Sophie Brown — The Huffington Post UK 31/07/2015 09:47am BST | Updated August 3, 2015 Comparisons are being drawn between a 1938 Daily Mail article on German Jews entering the UK, and media coverage of the Calais migrant crisis 77 years later. With the headline "German Jews Pouring Into This Country", the article warns of "aliens" entering the UK through the "back door." The clipping also appears to talk about a woman who was charged with "knowingly harbouring" a migrant man who she intended to marry. Enough said about the Mail. It seems the Left have become obsessed with the DM, they must be creating the wrong global image, shame on the DM, pull yourselves together. This year, the Mail reported that disabled people are exempt from the bedroom tax; that asylum-seekers had "targeted" Scotland; that disabled babies were being euthanised under the Liverpool Care Pathway; that a Kenyan asylum-seeker had committed murders in his home country; that 878,000 recipients of Employment Support Allowance had stopped claiming "rather than face a fresh medical"; that a Portsmouth primary school had denied pupils water on the hottest day of the year because it was Ramadan; that wolves would soon return to Britain; that nearly half the electricity produced by windfarms was discarded. All these reports were false. I note, with interest, that you have not made a point about the text other than to 'have a go' at the left. It seems the Right have become obsessed with the DM and quote them at every opportunity as though they were honest.

In this so called "Land of Hope and Glory", we have places like Yarls Wood Detention Centre, a place which Vladimir Putin or Kim Jong Un would be proud of.
I have no idea if THIS government are proud of Yarls Wood, or whether a new Labour government would close it down.
But in its recent history, the Yarls Wood Detention Centre has seen multiple internal protests, riots, fires and hunger strikes.
Inmates have been sexually abused by male staff, and in one such incident where witnesses were present, the witnesses were removed and conveniently deported before the case could be heard.
In January 2011, the High Court ruled that the continued detention of the children of failed asylum seekers at Yarl's Wood was unlawful
In 2012, whistleblower Noel Finn raised concerns about abuse towards patients with mental illness and who are detained in Yarl's Wood, most had not received adequate assessment or treatment. Patients deported or removed back to the very place they had been tortured had gone unchecked by the home office. It was reported by the whistleblower that patients had been sexually abused, no one to date has been prosecuted.
Numerous accusations of neglect, inadequate medical care, deaths, and suicides; One man hung himself leaving his 13 year old boy alone in the world.
Yarls Wood is an utter disgrace to everything considered civilised and human, and if Keir Starmer does not close it down, then I am certain that very big changes will be made. A really good first step ( in my opinion ) is to kick out the private contractor(s) who are clearly not capable.

That's absolutely terrible Sid. The place should be closed down immediately. Where do we send the people currently detained there?

In 2010 the national debt was £144bn. In 2023 it is over £2 trillion and rising. Starmer will have to wait until Labour fix the Tory problem of debt. haha what an idiotic statement. So Labour didn't support the bank bailouts, COVID lockdowns / furlough, and cost of living help? hahaha. If you cannot be truthful about the problem, they how the hell can you come up with a solution?

You do understand how journalism works right? Journalist have sources, who feed them information, and then they write a story and we see where it goes. "Reported" has no place in a criminal case (as shown when Trump was impeached with zero actual evidence), but reporting what sources have said is the cornerstone of journalism. Without anonymous sources there would be no news as people would be afraid to speak out. You keep making these foolish statements where you dismiss certain media outlets because they are "not of the left". When it was leaked Labour were dropping their £28b energy company pledge was that fake news? No you muppet, it piled pressure on Labour and they had to admit it was true. You’re largely correct in your comments on journalism. But “Sources close to…”, “The belief around Westminster is…”, “Senior party personnel…” are among familiar wraparound phrases used by journalists in order to obey the instructions of news media bosses to boost or rubbish as required. There have even been examples of journalists actually making up quotes, fabricating reports, sometimes getting the sack, and then going on to greater things… If you want to use extreme examples as representing the norm, then you will have to dismiss all media sources. I mean hell, let's take it to the logical conclusion and only believe things we have witnessed with our own eyes...

I have 21-25 newspapers available each day for work. I regularly only read those I think will inform of something I think I need to know.
From experience, I've learned to trust the FT, Times, City AM, and Economist the most.
A few of the rest might have something of interest or use, but since editorial staffs have been paired to the bone, they're mostly little more than advertising vehicles regurgitating the wire service material or — like the London Evening Standard — what they've heard that morning on the BBC, LBC and Times Radio.
Bloomberg and Reuters are handy too. Politically, I distrust the Guardian, Mail, and Telegraph, but all for different reasons...

If that was the case why was the DM spearheading the witch-hunt on Johnson?
The DM would not let the story drop, they chipped away and away and away, it was getting fuckin stupid, so you explain why a 'Tory propaganda sheet' was instrumental in bringing down Johnson?

The Jews entering in the 30s were families escaping persecution, the migrants arriving in recent years are mostly the young men of the families they have left behind in 'danger'. What would you call a large group of mostly military age young men illegally entering your country by way of boats on teh beaches?
