It is quite possible, we do not know what the meeting was about as no advisors were present. Corbyn was never PM or foreign secretary so it is a moot point, if he had slipped his advisors and security while holding a position of power to meet up with the IRA, then yes, the charge could be levied but he was not and did not. But you will not answer the question as to "If Corbyn had done what Johnson did would you opinion be different or would you defend Corbyn in the same way"? He talked to someone who had a dodgy past - if you are expecting politicians to never do that you are going to have an incredibly disappointing life. Politician can and sometimes do talk to people with a dodgy past, especially while holding high office but they do it with a security detail and advisors to 'advise' them? As an extension "Boris Johnson ’s notebooks from his time in office raised national security concerns “at the highest level”, it has been claimed. They are being withheld from him by the government after a security review found pages of “highly sensitive material”. The man is a danger to this country. Did he take highly sensitive notebooks with him when he met the KGB agent? The man should be investigated and charged under the official secrets act if found wanting. If Corbyn had done the same would you be defending him?
Your reluctance to answer that simple question says all that needs to be said.

I have already answered your question about Corbyn - how about you answering mine. Do you believe that Corbyn is a terrorist because he consorted with terrorists?

Exactly they provide security that is their job nothing else, the late Queen had to meet and greet some really nasty people over the years, as have past Prime Ministers such as Hitler, Putin the IRA etc etc, as for the Diaries of who they met what was talked about their Private Secretary will do that they way well contain sensitive information, that is why they are kept secure kept, not for publication . It is laughable that Boris has a back pocket full of note books in his back bock pocket containing anything sensitive and went for a pint with KGB Agents , here have a look at this Ivan while I get the drinks in , but at least one idiot in here is deluded enough to think that

"extend that argument to Corbyn - because he met terrorists he is now an Irish terrorist". That is not an answer to the question I asked, that would be either yes or no. Security details keep a cabinet minister safe and Johnson must have known he would be safe meeting a KGB agent. Johnson also, as I have said before, also 'slipped away' from his advisors, why? Corbyn did meet terrorists but did not 'slip away' from a security detail and advisors to do so. Many Tory MPs met with terrorists, usually secretly, but had the necessary people present. Thatcher even said in a famous speech "We will never negotiate with terrorists" while secretly negotiating with terrorists. Now try an honest answer to my question.

Imagine this, Boris could be re-elected as an MP which would make all these investigations inquiries and committee reports absolutely pointless lol. That's a matter for voters in his prospective constituency.

What part of 'Thatcher met with terrorists in secret passed you by"? Corbyn supported Irish independence and was not afraid to talk about it despite the damage it did to him politically, that's called honesty and transparency. Corbyn was not the Foreign Secretary nor PM and as such followed different rules. The two things are different. If "If Johnson is a Russian agent for meeting with the KGB then Corbyn has to be a terrorist for meeting with the IRA", is your way of saying you would not have used the same argument about Corbyn as you are about Johnson then that just shows your reasoning and bias are floored. The fact that cannot come out and say yes or no shows you have a weak argument. In fact, and it is only my opinion, I believe you would condemn any Labour MP in that position as I am condemning Johnson and there lies the difference, I would also condemn any Labour MP in high office in that position as I did with Blair.

What part of 'Thatcher met with terrorists in secret passed you by"? Who did she meet? So Corbyn meets terrorists but he is not a terrorist - however Johnson meets a Russian so he is automatically a Russian spy - is that really the level of your argument now? I think you need to check your own reasoning and bias..

I don't think Corbyn was such a person but what can you say to a murderer who continues to support immorality in this way.

By the way, reason for coming here in the first place was walking around my town today, one sees new public decorative artefacts around the place. Why should this be you may wonder. Well Dear Boris was trying to "level up" was he not. Maybe he liked the local cakes when he came here to campaign, but our small town of 10k got £25m from him. That should keep a few councillors fed for a while and pay for their kids to get private eduction lol!

What part of 'Thatcher met with terrorists in secret passed you by"? Who did she meet? The IRA. "Files just released by the National Archives show Margaret Thatcher took part in negotiations with the IRA during the 1981 Hunger Strikes, BBC investigative journalist Peter Taylor has said. The contacts took place through an MI6 officer and a secret back-channel to the IRA code-named Soon. Soon was Londonderry businessman Brendan Duddy. Mr Taylor said Mrs Thatcher altered by hand one statement sent to the IRA. "When I read these documents I was astonished," he said. "I think that they are revelatory and of genuine historical importance because they give lie to all sorts of assumptions that were made incorrectly about the Hunger Strikes and the relationship between the government and the IRA. "These documents spell it out large that Mrs Thatcher was involved in negotiations with the IRA." BBC News So Corbyn meets terrorists but he is not a terrorist - however Johnson meets a Russian so he is automatically a Russian spy - is that really the level of your argument now? I think you need to check your own reasoning and bias.. Corbyn did not slip his security and advisors and fly off to Spain to spend a week with the IRA whilst holding the office of Foreign Secretary. Johnson, we now know, carried 'sensitive' information in notebooks where ever he went.

So Thatcher never actually met anyone - is that what you are trying to say?

So Thatcher never actually met anyone - is that what you are trying to say? I see, you are actually trolling me, poor form. In the event of no argument bring up inane arguments and begin 'splitting hairs'. "Margaret Thatcher's government opened top-secret contacts with the IRA and Sinn Fein in 1990, four years before the IRA cease-fire, according to her former Northern Ireland Secretary, Peter Brooke. Government accounts of the secret link have always implied that the key sequence of contacts began in 1993. Ministers maintain that the contact began in earnest only in February of that year, following a message from Sinn Fein's Martin McGuinness that the conflict was over". BBC News. Thatcher authorised the meeting between the IRA and British government, that is a fact but a deflection on your part. My point is that Johnson should be investigated under the official secrets act for leaving the country after giving his officials the slip straight after a NATO summit on Russia and meeting a known Russian spy in Italy, especially since we now know he carries around highly sensitive information in his private notebooks and this was at a time when Russia had just carried out a chemical attack on UK soil. Your response of 'Corbyn must be a spy too' is facetious and a deflection and an attempt to ridicule. Your response had it been any Labour MP, never mind Corbyn, would be to condemn them and call for an investigation but you will not admit it. My response had it been a Labour politician in the same position would be the same as it is for Johnson. If you want to debate Corbyn I will gladly do that but stop trolling it just makes you look childish.
