Starmer got a kicking. He lead with diversity, while sitting on an almost totally white front bench, and then proceeded to have his arse handed to him over crime and immigration. Must admit that I couldn't believe he mentioned that. The Leader of the least diverse major party in the UK trying to tell the first asian PM where his party is going wrong - is he fucking stupid?

I think perhaps you assume too much. I am no fan of Starmer whom I regard as a proven liar and an establishmentarian stooge. So I am actually far more likely to be neutral. To be honest Steve, you may as well save yourself 45 minutes and read Squeezies summary. He got it spot on. Wasn't Starmers best day. Fell asleep when he was on his diversity trip at the start and then he was handed a zinger when Sunak mentioned election results being honored. I don't like Sunak, but he certainly gave Starmer a hammering. As Tommy said, PMQ means nothing except for politics nerds such as ourselves, but it does appear to be looking up

Not that I like listening to PMQs as it happens but I watch that silly little show that wants to put it on. And I don't mind Sunak personally as it happens. Bit I wouldn't exactly say he made a great show. Just Starmer can't play a stronghand on diversity when his front bench is all white. And nobody cares about Braverman given she got Truss the sack. She was shit at her job and was lucky to last 49 days whether she had a shouting match with Braverman or not. And then he went on about election results forgetting he was part of the team calling for another referendum. Sunak had him on the ropes at lunch time and Starmer needs to understand that unlike Johnson or Truss, Sunak isn't going to give him a headline to attack him on a Wednesday lunchtime.

What annoys me is people trying to pretend that PMQs is anything other than a weekly Punch and Judy show, in which Leadership strengths / weakness are shown.
If you want questions answered in a grown-up manner, then watch what happens in the chamber / committee rooms during the 99% of the time that isn't PMQs.

And his response wasn't policy based, but entirely based on attacking the personalities opposite. He's going to need to do a lot better or he's toast.UKIP . Sunak is just a Johnston clone without the verbal waffle. He answered nothing and lied through his teeth. Just another right wing liar. In terms of toast. How many PM. Cabinet members, and sleaze bags in the present UKIP thinking right wing fascist clown car muppet show that calls itself a government have been/will be toast since Starmer became leader of the opposition. Sunak. performance was a joke. Just like his appointments. Next through the revolving doors of right wing toast. Braverman. ukpoliticsdebate.boards.net/post/8718/thread ' '

Anyone watching? I accept few Labour supporters will admit to it. It will be painful for them, Sunak is giving Starmer a right kicking I was at work at the time so have not yet seen or heard it, but have heard reporting of it in numerous places, including reactions. And a curious fact has been reported. Left leaning people who watched it are convinced that Starmer wiped the floor with Sunak. Right leaning people who watched it are convinced of the exact opposite, that Sunak wiped the floor with Starmer. In light of that it is unsurprising that you fall into the latter category. I cannot give my own views until I catch up with it on iplayer tomorrow im neither red or blue tory as you know steve , but in my opinion sunak wiped the floor with starmer. To be fair , that doesnt mean sunak is a good debater , becasue as we both know and have appeared to agree before starmer is rather wooden and poor.
Have a watch yourself and see what you think. In the grand scheme of things i dont think it matters a great deal , but what i do think is the pendulum is swinging away from labour slowly but surely.
You said often enough yourself , the tories needed to ge rid of johnson to have a chance of winning the next election and thats what they have done.
The cosy niche of left v right is extremely boring now , and we both know the old two party system no longer works in the modern world. The tories and labour are no longer fit for purpose , both have serious issues in terms of entrenched views splitting the parties apart.
Meanwhile its fun watching the slow motion car crash of westmisnter politics and its outdated two party system .

It never really is starmers day. I think the final part of your last sentence is something that will come back to bite starmer on the bum come election time. Whatever your politics , no one likes an anti democrat that trys to piss on the publics vote.
This is a lead weight around starmers neck.

Why what anti-democratic about trying to hold back the disaster that Brexit has caused on the British people.

Why what anti-democratic about trying to hold back the disaster that Brexit has caused on the British people. you can disagree with brexit of course. Whats anti democratic is trying to overturn a legitimate referendum result , before it was implemented , as starmer did ( among others)between 2016 - 2019 .
62 % of labours own constituencies voted brexit , especially in the red wall , and this silly man tried to piss all over them.
no one likes an anti democrat , and as sunak proved yesterday , jibing starmer over his anti demcoratic behaviour always goes down well.
Labour seem to have this historical problem of always choosing the wrong leader imo.

The electorate was lied to and deceived by the leave campaign. so was the scottish electorate in 20104. So was every electorate in every election according to bad losers .
How many lies did tony blair and new labour tell during their governance over thirteen years? Did the general election get re run every time?
sour grapes arent very endearing to the electorate mate. Starmer is an anti democrat who isnt trusted within his own party membership never mind by the electorate.

srb steve , a current forum member , is one of them.
I wouldnt trust keir starmer if he told me the sun was going to rise in the morning, i would stick my neck out the window to check first.

Yes but Johnson would be first in the queue to close it and chop your head off.
