Announced this morning - Sunak plans to do away with the backlog by giving an amnesty to those that have applied, they wont even be interviewed. I've looked on BBC and politico and cannot see anything about this? |

I wonder if said barges once full of illegals could one dark and moonless night slip their moorings and be discreetly towed to French waters and abandoned. I'm sure there would be plenty of volunteers for such a task at Stonehouse Barracks. I did hear the Old Cruise Liners will be used to house them as well as barges I like the Cruise Liner idea, this is the Captain speaking, we are just entering Syrian waters will all Syrians while we slow down go to the slide on the port side for disembarkation crew members will help you with a hefty push . Next port of call will be Iran get your rubber rings ready for you get off point in a few hours, Iraqis please assemble at the giant catapult at the stern two at time, give me a wave as you go by  |

Investing in more barges etc indicates that, despite Rishi's promise to drive the backlog down to zero by the end of this year, asylum seekers are going to be around in significant numbers for some time yet. Impossible according to the law of crap: crap fills the space provided for it. |

If Labour are advocating 'safe routes' for asylum seekers to enter the country that will increase the numbers exponentially what is the difference between that and open borders? |
