They're going to need a hell of a lot of those barges, I doubt they'll ever be used, as we post the loony lefties have their human rights lawyers on it, they can't be used they aren't the 'right kind of barges', .... LOL you can see it coming a mile off. It's the looney righties that can't organise a legal system not the loony lefties using the laws we have. Pillock..

It's the loony left human rights lawyers who can't keep their grubby dirty hands of UK tax payers money, if they weren't getting paid astronomical amounts of UK tax payers money to stop these criminal illegal migrants from being deported, they would just let them rot.
Keir Starmer is MP for Holborn and St Pancras and Leader of the Labour Party. He is a former Human Rights barrister, Director of Public Prosecutions and Head of the Crown Prosecution Service, with an impressive history of both advocating for and defending Human Rights.
Keir Starmer loves nothing more than spending other people's money.

I wonder if said barges once full of illegals could one dark and moonless night slip their moorings and be discreetly towed to French waters and abandoned. I'm sure there would be plenty of volunteers for such a task at Stonehouse Barracks.

The looney righties have never had the chance to prove that one way or another . Its the fact that the Conservatives are afraid of their own shadows and two faced on immigration that gives the left the opportunity to help them . Even if they stop every rib crossing the channel it still doesn't hide the fact that we would still have record immigration

The first barge is soon to be in use down at Portland, the Council have told us that they won't be wasting our money on legal challenges, but they are not happy about it. The people from Portland are independently minded and are unlikely to treat any disturbances to their way of life with equanimity, so any protests about conditions may end up in a big splash in the harbour.
I don't think this is a left/right situation, all Governments have ignored the wishes of the people about immigration over the past 50 years, it must be said that at least Labour are more candid about their position. I dislike my local Tory MP and would be only too pleased to see the smug remainer lose his seat at the next election, a barge full of unwelcome uninvited foreigners complaining about their WiFi that we are paying for might just do it.

This is the charmer for North Dorset, he hates brexit, Boris Johnson and is unrepentant at voting for Mrs May's deal on every occasion.

Investing in more barges etc indicates that, despite Rishi's promise to drive the backlog down to zero by the end of this year, asylum seekers are going to be around in significant numbers for some time yet. At least he’s making good a promise to lessen the impact of small boats…

As far as they are concerned 'refugees' are perfectly entitled to pay people traffickers in France to get them to England. If however they went back to France, I'm confident the French would suddenly regard them as illegal immigrants and criminals who would immediately be shipped back to England.

Well if and when the illegal immigration bill is enacted there is a good chance that will be tested.

Investing in more barges etc indicates that, despite Rishi's promise to drive the backlog down to zero by the end of this year, asylum seekers are going to be around in significant numbers for some time yet. Yes we have a backlog of 170,000 Alleged Asylum Seekers most of which have entered the UK Unlawfully already here that have yet to have their claims assessed, the assessments are incredibly slow which means that backlog gets larger every week Many are crossing the Channel almost every day adding to the waiting list , reality is we have no where to house clothe and feed these people, the entire EU is awash with alleged Asylum Seekers and Economic Migrants , more are crossing the Med in larger vessels, and many have drowned in the Med but they still come. When some of them get here and their claims are rejected we still struggle to Deport them, their Appeal after Appeal means they stay here for longer and longer , we even struggle to Deport foreign Criminals back to their won country on their release from Prison. On top of that we have thousands of people many of them who are British born who live on our streets , or in overcrowded conditions as we cannot even house them , never mind these alleged asylum seekers on top. We cannot build fast enough and fast running out of space of where to build, as we all know it is costing the taxpayers millions every week, week in week out, year in year out , it cannot continue and no Political Party on offer can possibly deal with it or come up with a solution IMHO , well not by peaceful means

Announced this morning - Sunak plans to do away with the backlog by giving an amnesty to those that have applied, they wont even be interviewed.
