Don't be daft Zany, I think no one denies Earth has warmed almost 2degC since my grandad was born. The "failed qualification" was voluntary, I left that lab job before the course ended. You appear to have problems....seek help. You deny AGW Anthropomrphic Climate Change (Man made). Yes you keep saying you left just before qualifying.Which sounds highly likely You definitely need help and it looks like I'm going to have to give you some. In the light of the history of Earth's temperature, I and millions of others are not convinced that man is the cause. I explained why that left before qualifying but I'll now give you some more details to ease your squalid mind. My further education was paid for by my employer. I'd sought and had a job offer at a much higher salary though had not accepted it at that stage since I was in the process of establishing my National Service status. I had decided to leave my employer but to do so would mean I had to take my NS medical which I had; it was necessary to take that medical if I was quitting the job that allowed me to take time off for studies. I passed my NS medical but with a low grade due to scar tissue in my ears and I was assigned to the RAOC. Two weeks later I saw a newspaper article suggesting that due to a surge in volunteers the government were considering eliminating another group, my group, from serving and a week later I received a letter from Elizabeth saying she no longer needed my services,,,,Whoopee. So I handed my notice in and accepted the other job. Like most things you wouldn't have a clue about this.

‘Enjoy your final minutes!’ Greta Bhunberg mocked after ‘wipe out’ climate change prediction falls flat Greta Bhunberg has been ruthlessly mocked after her “wipe out” climate change prediction failed to materialise. The 20-year-old activist shared a shocking prediction about the future of humanity on social media in 2018.
The post said: “A top climate change scientist is warning that climate change will wipe out all of humanity unless we stop using fossil fuels over the next five years.” The post was uploaded to Twitter at 11.18am on June 21 in 2018. linkShe did not say that humanity would be wiped out within five years. She said that humanity would be wiped out if we did not stop using fossil fuels within five years. Which is not quite the same thing. We know that there is a substantial time lag between the pumping out of greenhouse gasses and their full impact upon the climate. But whilst almost all serious scientists acknowledge the impact of CO2 emissions on global warming, and that this is going to start having devastatingly disruptive impacts on climate which will be devastating to humanity if we don't do something about it, some predictions are more alarmist than others. And the above appears to have erred on the side of hysteria somewhat. Greta Thunberg was foolish to latch onto it so readily. Nevertheless she is most of the time closer to the truth than most of the usual denialists around here. These latter tend to have three things in common. 1, they are rather old, 2, they are fans of a notoriously dishonest and unreliable right wing newsprint media, and 3, they are predictably right wing themselves. And they do show an aversion to facts they don't like. Well we didn't but it didn't happen.

She DID NOT say that humanity would be wiped out in five years. She said that if we did not stop our emissions within five years it would lead to our extinction at some point. You seem incapable of understanding the distinction. Personally I think it was an exaggerated claim anyway, but she wasnt actually saying that we'd be extinct in five years. For someone with pretensions of being more educated than the rest of us your inability to understand the precise meanings of words and sentences rather lets your claim down somewhat, a bit like your non-existent physics qualification does in relation to your status as an armchair physicist. You are convincing no one.

Just wondering what the carbon footprint of this get together was. How many flew in on their private planes. How many arrived in limos. Was there one of those ubiquitous extravagant after parties? Hanoi jane and Quinta Brunson share their insights into environmental advocacy as they take the stage at the 2023 Hollywood Climate Summit Many of Hollywood's biggest stars and environmentalists took the stage at the 2023 Hollywood Climate Summit, including Quinta Brunson and Hanoi jane. The 33-year-old Brunson - who rocked a unique look at last month's Met Gala - spoke on the We're All In: Why You Should Be Excited About the Hollywood Climate Movement on Thursday morning. The 85-year-old Hanoi Jane spoke at the Hollywood's Time to Take On Big Oil + Gas panel directly following Brunson's panel. Brunson stepped out in a sleeveless brown, pink, blue and green sweater dress that fell to just above her knees. The actress and writer had her braided hair pulled back into a bun as she accessorized with large diamond-studded earrings.

So, we have now passed the 'no return' point and any further efforts are futile. She was trying to say we would have now just passed the point of no return yes. Far from all the scientists yet agree with her on that. But no sensible person thinks further efforts are futile. Because clearly the warmer it gets the more potential damage to our ecosystem. And the more greenhouse gasses we keep pumping out the warmer it will get. I think the chances of us becoming extinct any time soon are minimal. But global agricultural collapse is likely to happen at some point if we keep on going, which will cause global famine on an unprecedented scale. Billions would die. Billions more will be on the move, a refugee crisis the like of which we have never seen before. Even rich countries like us who already cannot produce enough food to feed themselves and rely on imports will see starvation and massive increases in food prices - or severe rationing. It will be a global catastrophe the like of which we have never seen before. No one is certain when this will be but if we keep pumping out greenhouse gasses into the atmosphere almost all climate scientists agree that at some point this is likely to occur. There is also a time lag of two or three decades before the full effects of what we are pumping out take effect. This is what Thunberg as talking about. She was saying that by now we would have pumped enough CO2 into the atmosphere to make this outcome inevitable. This was likely scaremongering in an attempt to make old fools listen, which is clearly a lost cause. I think there is probably still time to avert this. But such civilisational collapse will occur when and if global food production collapses, and the more shit we keep pumping out, the more likely it is that we will reach that point.

What Greta said in 2018 was that if we didn’t reduce our carbon footprint in 5 years then it would be too late , right ? So 5 years later we have not reduced our carbon footprint but it’s not too late apparently. This is what the we get when we allow a vulnerable teenager to cry wolf and still support her. The eco worriers are using the apocalypse cult method to spread the word “ no Jesus did turn up yesterday as we claimed but he will be here next year “. The eco worriers should stop using Pippi longstocking to lead the cult and start using a scientist capable of posing a credible and compelling case .

We do not know for certain if it is too late to prevent serious problems because there is a time lag between when all the stuff is pumped out and when it takes full impact. I personally think and hope it is not too late but if we dont make meaningful progress towards net zero at some point it will become too late. No one is certain when that point will be reached if it has not already been but all serious climate scientists believes there is a point where coming disaster will be baked in.

Does that mean we've got it all wrong on climate change and its not happening? Does it mean any prediction is a waste of time and we can do nothing? Does it mean climate change is all made up?
