The ones who are already comfortable in their nice little homes might not. But the great many not on the housing ladder, who cannot afford to buy and probably paying extortionate rents or still living with their parents into middle age surely do. And there are more of the latter than the former. You do not speak for the people. You speak for people like you. And arrogantly assume that the two are the same thing. I'm not speaking for anyone - I'm pointing out what people actually vote for. You don't even know that for sure. People have a plethora of reason why they vote. How well the country is rum being one of them. Several times the low tax party have lost and this time its looks that way to.

The Tories lost the 2021 Chesham and Amersham by-election precisely because they were imposing housing and infrastructure development on the local residents agoinst their will - the LibDems campaigned on stopping the policy. The LibDems won because they campaigned against HS2 and more housebuilding.

Are you expecting the residents of other seats to have a more cavalier attitude to development in their area?. Give us some idea of where this demand is coming from - because it certainly is nowhere in the Home Counties.

Demand here is enormous and thousands of houses are being built. Somehow when the universities and the tech giants want more houses the public opinion is ignored.
