Just listened to a retired Detective Chief Superintendent on GB News who said he is very uncomfortable with the way the police are allowing protestors to block roads while arresting people who complain about it. He said if he was still a serving police officer it would not be happening. The man was not arrested for 'complaining'. He should have made citizens arrests on both the protesters and the police, the police need taking into custody for standing by watching criminals in action.

The man was not arrested for 'complaining'. The obvious point being, disruptive anarchists were again allowed to break the law by blocking the public highway but were protected by woke police who instead arrested people for attempting to go about their lawful business. A few months ago the police arrested bystanders, journalists I think, who were covering these morons blocking the M25. At that time the police apologised and announced an inquiry. It seems the woke police don't learn from their woke 'mistakes'. I agree but one has to wonder why the police do not use the powers they undoubtably have. Going on what happened a few days ago the are, possibly, causing situations to arise that could lead to violence.

So what you are saying, the police have been instructed not to arrest criminals, have you and proof to back that up, even though I suspect that is the case.

It might be the common sense that has suffered with recent recruiting.

I would have thought this 'just stop oil' silliness was a point for the government to clarify, so that at least the public is aware of why this nonsense has been allowed to continue, just why it hasn't been stopped. As much as I dislike the woman and often point out her madness, I don't believe Thatcher would have tolerated this 'making matters worse' nonsense without at least making her feeling known.

I think the government have put extra measures in place for these idiots, they have set protesting back years, the government held back on implementing extra laws because they didn't want to take away the democratic right for people to protest, thanks to these idiots the new laws had to applied.
"The security minister, Tom Tugendhat, defended the new laws, which include a 12-month prison sentence for protesters who block roads and a six-month prison sentence or unlimited fine for anyone who locks on to others, objects or buildings".
These criminal law breaking protesters are taking away the legal rights for people to protest peacefully, and everyone should be pissed off with them.

I don't understand this at all. Legislation is already in place, the Road Traffic Act clearly sets out what the law iS regarding blocking roads.
Section 137 Road Traffic Act: Penalty for wilful obstruction (along a public highway)
(1) If a person, wilfully obstructs the free passage along a highway he is guilty of an offence and liable to a fine not exceeding £50.
(2) A constable may arrest without warrant any person whom he sees committing an offence against this section.
For the life of me I don't understand where the confusion lies. As far as the law is concerned there is no grey area, on this point the law is black and white. As far as can see the only fly in the ointment is incompetent woke police who refuse to implement the law.

No proof, no but a concern as to why they are not and the lack of 'discipline' from their superiors when they do not.

Anyone watching GB News? About an hour ago they showed two clips of demonstrators blocking roads. One from London, the other from Germany. As we know the woke police in this country are very sympathetic and protect the anarchists. However, the clip from Germany was brilliant. As soon as the protesters walked into the road and sat down the police reaction was instant. The morons were picked picked up and literally thrown off the road like bags of shit. The police then threateningly stood over them while other police waved traffic on.
The police in this country are a woke joke.

Police should have to pass annual mandatory fitness tests, if they fail they should have to attend a remedial PT course. If after completing this course they still fail to pass the annual mandatory fitness tests they should be fired. These fine examples of British police are a disgrace.

You are blaming people who are duty bound to follow their orders. Nope, they're duty bound to prevent & detect crime and preserve the peace. Which is not at all the same thing.

Police should have to pass annual mandatory fitness tests... They have done for the last 10 years. ...if they fail they should have to attend a remedial PT course. If after completing this course they still fail to pass the annual mandatory fitness tests they should be fired. They do and they can be. I wonder how old your pictures are.

TSM, I mentioned this at the time, at the Kings coronation there was a female police officer lining the Mall. She was in white shirt with black tactical vest. Judging by the people around her she was probably about 5ft tall, and 15 or 16st. There was a two or three inch gap between the bottom of her vest and trousers, from which a huge roll of flab was attempting to escape, it was the classic spare tyre. It would have been all but impossible for that police officer to run more than a few paces without risking a heart attack.
