It should also be off school premises — unless the particular premises were rented out at that time by a group for its religious purposes. Choir, dramatics, scouts, stamp collecting, etc, can all be secular out of school activities… What about the thousands of schools founded by the church? They have been measured to give better performance in the other subjects than their secular counterparts. It seems to me you just want to dictate like the TRA does. Hospitals were also founded by "the church", and even now continue its titling of some staff members, but nobody insists they should be allowed to preach to patients. In fact, it's discouraged.
Understandable, and to be welcomed, when some of the whacky ideas of Creationists, Christian Scientists, Jehovah's Witnesses, etc, are looked at...

I don’t believe religious education and instruction should be taught in schools. Nor should any religious belief be allowed to influence school teaching or behaviour instruction. Whatever you believe, is it OK to tell you to refer to a girl as a boy, when you are being told to take part in and repeat a lie? Because I don't believe that it is. |

This guy sounds a bit of a head dick.
A teacher must be in control of his class and he does not keep control by meeting the kids head on. Most of the pupils do not want to be there in the first place and will take the every opportunity to complain. They don't care. The more time they are arguing about pronouns the less time they are being bothered with quadratic equations. This guy clearly has not realised that and should not be in teaching.

We are now living in the age of Child Heroes who can sack teachers. It's one of the facets of the case which is so disturbing. Of course you should stand up to this kind of thing. It is evil social engineering on behalf of the government. The law has to be reversed and the Equalities and Human Rights Commission disbanded. The teacher is the real hero here though, working for the interests of us all against an evil state. He should be knighted. |
