It is the police's job to move protesters if they are blocking the road, not members of the public. It's a citizens duty to assist a police officer when called upon in the execution of their duty. When the police are not there, they use their initiative as if they had asked.  Are you saying that officers are asking members of the public to help them remove protesterd blocking a road? In fact I have heard the exact opposite, that the public should not get involved. |

Blocking the roads without good reason is against the road traffic laws.
Protesters blocking the road in the process of protesting are committing a crime.
Siting in the road is not aggressive it is a peaceful protest and does not warrant being attacked by members of the public, if they were hurling rocks at cars that would be differen.
The police already have the power to arrest the protesters who are blocking the road.
Members of the public do not have the right to remove the protesters from the road, as said that is the job of the police. Members of the public can be arrested for physically removing protesters from the road. It could also lead to charges of sexual assault if women are involved, this is a life changing conviction.
Why do the police not use those powers.
Have the police been 'told' not to arrest protesters by their superiors?
Arresting a pensioner is not a good look for the police but neither is a 'mob' the public removing them either.
Look at Cardiff to see what happens when a mob goes on the rampage.
Does it not occur to any off you that the protesters want to get arrested as this amplifies their cause and that maybe, just maybe the instructions from a above are to leave them and let the 'public' get angry enough to do something stupid, in other words playing them. Look how angry you are that a 'vigilante' got arrested.
The protesters are committing no aggressive acts against the public but peacefully sitting in a road. Members of the public are being 'encouraged' to do something 'illegal' about it by the language used by the Tories and the right wing media.
They have you right where they want you.🤣
