Once AI has the power of algorithm no programmer can work at anything like that speed which has been shown time and time again. The master has become the slave. Except for what I've said about a machine not being capable of wanting anything. Except maybe saving the planet from human beings. Being past their useful date.

Well if you say so, children who no longer see the point of breeding a planet where it is alleged is being killed off by human activity and the verge of Nuclear war while mysterious pandemics appear, I think we are all going together one way or another.

On the Brightside the G7 is having a meeting to save us all, lol Yes, they would be wise to do so. If they do nothing, they risk an eventual Marxist revolution. Marx pointed out that capitalism has an 'internal conflict'. On one hand, it keeps producing machines to do its work; on the other hand, every time it does this, it decreases the number of people available to buy its products (if you have been put out of work by a machine, you won't have the money to buy the thing the machine is making.) Marx said a revolution will occur when machines start putting people out of jobs en masse, with the people seizing the means of production. In this scenario, he said, people will work only a couple of days a week, developing and maintaining the machines. Patman Post made a good point the other day. He said that AI has created more jobs than it has taken. If this continues, it goes without saying that that Marx's predictions won't come true. If it doesn't, then ...

Marx was from another time and place, if AI has created more jobs than it has taken, in what field? or in another world who is now working for who?

There was just as much, if not more, discussion of machines taking jobs from people in Marx's time and place. (By the way, Marx wrote most of his work in England; so, it might have been a different time, but it wasn't a different place).

He couldn't possibly have written his works in England, given there are no statues of him.

If you ever have any thoughts on how the 'internal conflict' recognised by Marx will be resolved, be sure to let us know.
