sandypine >> So to be clear you are saying that the increase in population of some 15% in as many years, mostly down to immigration, has absolutely nothing to do with anything else and will not affect health care, education, housing, transport, social services, jobs etc. Freedom of movement was signed by a Tory government where all member states were of a similar economic level, it was NewLabour who saw an opportunity to boost the economy by allowing in cheaper foreign labour en masse whilst messing all over those who were supposed to be their core support. Everything has a price. -----------------------------------------------------------------------The current population of the UK is 68 million, an increase of approximately 5 million since the previous census in 2011, an increase of less than 10%. The UK population also went up sharply between 2001 and 2011, by approximately 4 million Both of these rises can MOSTLY be attributed to the EU10 joining the European Union, plus Bulgaria and Romania joining in 2007. The population of the UK has always gone up between census's, mostly between 1 and 4 million The average Eastern European who arrived in the UK through Freedom Of Movement, are young, healthy, they work, and they pay both direct and indirect taxes. I repeat that the appaling state of our NHS and other public services has got nothing to do with immigrants, but has everything to do with cuts to public services ( which you seem to be in denial about ) and underfunding.
UK population today is almost 69 million, which is c10 million more than it was in 2004 when Blair, who had one eye on becoming president of the EU, opened the EU floodgates. England has been the most densely populated country in Europe since 2007 which is why our social infrastructure including the NHS is at breaking point. When in your opinion, is enough, enough?

The most densly populated country in Europe is The Netherlands
Blair did not open the floodgates to EU migrants, that was done by John Majors government who agreed to, and signed The Maastricht Treaty which included the terms of Freedom Of Movement.
population growth has not led to the appaling state of our NHS and other public services, cuts to funding and lack of investment has caused the mess that our public services are now in.
Why do you people deny the blatantly obvious ?, why do you try to blame migrant workers instead of accepting that Tory cuts and Tory underfunding is the real problem.
How the hell can an influx of thousands of mostly young, mostly healthy migrant workers, who come here to work, most of whom pay direct and indirect taxes, cripple our NHS and other public services. ?
Many EU migrants have gone home now, and no more will be arriving, hence the labour shortages, and so according to you, the NHS must now be on the road to recovery.
The only time the NHS will be repaired and fixed, is when this government have gone in approximately 18 months time

The question is WHY have the Conservatives starved ALL public services of investment and funding for 13 years, so much so that they are now in a terrible state. ? Starved of investment takes on a whole new meaning when public spending is higher under the Tories than it ever was under New Labour.. There s an old saying, attributed to Benjamin Disraeli "Lies, damned lies and statistics", and you are guilty of telling a lie using statistics. EVERY public service, from education to the NHS, from the police to local councils saw reductions in funding, in both monetary terms and in real terms. There was actually a tiny increase in NHS spending, but in Real Terms it amounted to a cut. If you resort to debating by simply telling lies, then whats the point in debating. ?

England is officially Europe's most densely packed major country - www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2530125/This-worryingly-crowded-isle-England-officially-Europes-densely-packed-country.htmlJohn 'The Bastard' Major did indeed hand us to the EU without the consent of the people in 1992, however as you are probably aware, Blair opened the floodgates and blatantly lied about the numbers. Indeed, in 2009 Andrew Neather, a former adviser to Tony Blair, said that Blairs relaxation of immigration controls was a deliberate plan to ‘open the UK to mass migration’. The rest of your pro EU left wing post is, I'll be generous and say, left wing drivel. As I posted earlier, the top ten unemployment hotspots in the UK are all immigrant shit tips, or as you would call them, wonderfully multicultural havens of diversity. And it would seem, benefits.

immigration up. ... I have probably missed a load off. Common denominator? Your list neglects to mention the most obvious and important factor which has negatively affected the points you raise, namely immigration illegal or otherwise. Nothing in this countries long history has had such a long term adverse effect on this country. The continued flood of immigrants from the EU started under Blair and continues to this day. Thanks to the EU and pro EU politicians millions of illegals/immigrants have entered this country in recent years, this was always going to have detrimental effect on the points you raise. You ask for the common denominator, thats easy. The reason the points you raise are serious concerns across Europe, is the EU's insane plan of forced mass immigration. Or the LIES started by Farage where asylum seekers were insinuated as FOM from the EU. Or the lies that millions of illegal immigrants enter this country thanks to the EU and pro EU politicians. Clean your fucking act up for goodness sake.

More figures that insinuate another lie. Budget 2010: George Osborne today announced the deepest cuts ever seen in the public sector by ordering nearly all government departments to slash an average of 25% from their annual budgets before the next general election and announcing a two-year pay freeze for all public sector employees. www.theguardian.com/uk/2010/jun/22/2010-budget-public-sector-cuts
