Breaking news.
It's just been announced on GB News that the government have backtracked on their promise to lose about 4000 EU laws. It seems just 600 EU laws will be got rid of. Apparently the Home Office say there simply isn't time to get rid of all EU laws that affect the UK by the end of the year.

Remember this advert.
I wasn't Sunak's biggest fan to start with, this latest revelation has done nothing to change that. I've just emailed this ad to my local Tory MP. Edit, I've emailed it to Sunak too. I wish everyone would.

Only idiots would think they can trash thousands of laws, many of which affect other laws. Another Brexit unicorn shot dead.

This was a promise Sunak made six months ago when he was campaigning to become prime minister. Treacherous bastard. I imagine you're thrilled.

Only idiots would think they can trash thousands of laws, many of which affect other laws. Another Brexit unicorn shot dead. They were told it was neither practical nor advantageous. They've finally listened. Nobody thought it was a good idea.

No. It went hand in hand with that orgasmic thrill of pure sovereignty, another lie. Sunak was merely trying to carry out the will of the 52%. It would have been better to have allowed the promise to disappear into the spaghetti bowl of other lies and hoped no one would remember. Now even more people realise the stupidity of the Promised Land.

It would appear that Sunak is trying to appease his largely Remainer cabinet, while Starmer does not want to upset the mainly Brexiter electorate.
I think that I will sit the next election out

Poor old Rishi faces an embarrassing climb down, I have never heard such a lot of bollox in all my life, as though there was ever a real plan to scrap them.

Poor old Rishi faces an embarrassing climb down, I have never heard such a lot of bollox in all my life, as though there was ever a real plan to scrap them. Where should I start... The civil servants and lawyers reckon they can't deal with reviewing the legislation, they have not got the time. However, a private law firm said that if given the job they could deal with it in 2 or 3 months. Where there is a will there is a way. The Tories really do want to throw the next election, don't they? They're not even Tories any more.
