Since trump, I'd have assumed that any slogan along the lines of "make (insert country here) great again" is now forever cursed for electoral purposes.
(Was surprised to see Reform using something similar - although I see from the paucity of their posters in these parts that they aren't exactly constituting a major force in politics..)

The Westminster party have always been a Pantomime, their act is getting stale to say the least Walter, it has gone from the sublime to the ridiculous in my opinion.

The article says will we ever make Britain better again rather than Great which has a certain colonial connotation. Better makes sense though I do think until we start educating people about nutrition and using other therapies only then can we get the big pharma complex under control. Labour party followers are normally indoctrinated in the belief that big govt can fix all and their indoctrination does not extend beyond big pharma. They think in straight jackets while trying to portray themselves as the party that cares. Yesterday I caught the well spoken Emily Thornberry talking about forcing buildings in the suburbs to address the housing crisis. Near me a local group stopped 16 high rises being built in the town centre with other changes and forced a council re-think. Congestion is a major issue already. We will have to start re-patronising those who have come from abroad. "Re-patronising"? Is that for when you didn't patronise someone properly the first time?

The thought of a Labour government is frightening. Starmer is massively pro EU, he faught for three years to overturn the biggest democratic vote in British history, he kneels for BLM, he's in hoc to the unions, he couldn't describe what a woman is, indeed he said women can have a penis and he has no policy to stop illegal immigration. Even Blair told him to stop being so woke. And some people think the country would be better with prime minister Starmer in charge! Truly mind boggling.

I suggest stop being pushed into making crap choices red, which is exactly what will happen if everyone keeps voting Westminster party.

For various reasons I don't particularly like this government, I don't like the way Boris, the elected prime minister was removed in favour of Sunak. But that ship has sailed, we have to deal with the current situation. And it is my sincere belief that Starmer would be an absolute disaster for the UK. He is pro EU, pro mass immigration and very woke. Why on earth would anyone want such a prime minister?

I just ain't the panicking type, I bet the turnout is crap and by the time the election comes around people will see things in a different light, the BOE are busy putting the nails in the coffin for them anyway.

Who's panicking. You place your X post your ballot sit back and wait. No use panicking. Tbh I think we all expect the Tories to get a kicking don't we? It is after all traditional for the government to get a kicking in mid term locals. And I'll tell you what, these local elections are far more important for Starmer than they are for Sunak. Polls have just closed.

Yep because we are at 'war' with Russia yet a proxy and economic war. At the GE the turn out will be high mark my words people have strong feeling about who is worse rather than better.

How can you approve of a liar being PM? Labour supporters do it all of the time.

He wanted a confirmatory referendum. Kneeling for a cause is not really a problem, many will kneel for the King today. The Unions have no power over todays Labour party. There are recorded cases of women having a penis. He has a plan to deal with immigration and asylum seekers unlike the Tories who are weaponizing vulnerable people. I think Starmer is a liar but he is far better than what we have seen from the Conservatives.
