Reduce the risk not eliminate it. If animal rights activists can panic the horses so can the crowds that shout and scream while the race is going on. They have been petitioning to have jumps stopped for decades. The horses are scared when they are forced to gallop why do you do think they are forced to wear blinkers?What do you think? Why do you think they fit them with nosebands and hoods? They like them to look natural, why do you think? |

How many wild horses die prematurely each year after breaking a leg? Think about this, because without human intervention it still happens. But there's no vet to put it out of its misery. That's wild horses, these are not. They are forced to jump over fences which is something they would rarely do except in the movies. Man and Horse have worked together for thousands of years since at least 3,000 BC , they were first hunted for food and leather even milked by man, or captured used as beasts of burden or ridden transport used for hunting , battle , work etc they were highly prized and looked after horse and man working together a partnership, same as wild dogs tamed domesticated, FFS Horses were hunted by predators in the wild they would gallop away and jump any hurdle in their path man did not teach them that they did it to survive second nature to them , as for the crowds at race meeting they are used to them and on much of the course the crowds are not there , its horse versus horse most of the way, horses are used to people As for the Horse that had to be put to sleep , it had overheated due to the delay caused by the demonstrators and had to be taken back to the paddock to be cooled down with buckets of water , as did at least one other horse, the horses are that keen to race its what they do. Some people want to ban everything they don't agree with they think they are superior to others we a right you are wrong, if you don't do as we say we will cause trouble, and they did and one horse died |

Not really. He says his horse wasn't fit to race but he raced the horse anyway and now wants to blame anyone but himself |

I wouldn’t lose much sleep if horses racing over jumps were banned but this does seem to be another platform for virtue signallers .
We race horses because we like to see ( and bet on) horse racing just as we raise pigs because we like the taste of pork. We don’t need to eat pork , we dont need to race animals . We do it because we like it.
If woke liberals succeed in banning horses racing over the sticks , they will just move on to dog racing or cat fanciers shows . Who knows ?
