At the 2010 General Election, David Cameron and the Conservatives promised not to cut spending to health and the NHS, and that spending would actually increase above inflation. After the 2010 Spending Review, spending on the NHS rose by 0.1% in real terms, a rise, but only just, and in reality a cut in spending as compared to previous years. FACTS: Spending on the NHS must rise by 3% in order to literally stand still and keep pace with (A) a growing population (B) an ageing population and (C) advances in medicine. But not only did the government of Cameron and Osborne trick the electorate over NHS spending, promising to spend more, they then went on to freeze pay for doctors, nurses and other NHS staff. The crisis within our NHS began long before the Pandemic, and the crisis is as direct result of the governments refusal to spend what is NECESSARY on our NHS, and to invest in its highly trained and highly professional staff, which are amongst the best in the world. Its always the same under the Conservatives, they ran the NHS into the ground 1979 - 1987, it took Labour several years to repair the damage, turn around the waiting lists, recruit more staff and slash waiting times. In 2010 the satisfaction rate for the NHS was at a record high, today its the opposite. We now sit listening to the news reader on the TV telling us that the average wait for an ambulance after dialing 999 for a suspected heart attack is now 40 minutes, and like Sheep, most people just accept it. You dont have to accept this run down, second rate NHS, it could be like it was not that long ago, all you have to do is NOT vote Conservative. So are we all expected to rush out and vote labour and see our population numbers go through the roof? The NHS are more than adequately funded but would rather spend the money on lefty woke diversity bullshit rather than patient care.

This mythical NHS that was the best in the world under Labour is far from my recollection of the reality at that time..
..perhaps I was just unlucky. although I would rather a health service where the treatment you get was not based on luck.

Just another brainwashed useful idiot on behalf of the ruling elites. It is because of millions like you that our country is in such a mess. And forums need people like you, to remind us why the country is in the state it's in, you shouldn't be let near a ballot box, even though you claim you're not voting Tory or Labour, people like you should come with a warning sign ....***Beware of the idiot*** I have encountered plenty of idiots like you on the doorstep. It because of idiots like you that this country is in such a hopeless fucked up state.

On the 'doorstep' blimey you don't get out much, unfortunately I encounter idiots like you in all walks of life on a daily basis, and not just on the doorstep, you need to get out more, maybe because you've restricted yourself to only meeting people on your doorstep, you've lost track of life and the real world, and it's you who are actually the 'idiot'.

That fat arse needs to be charged with fomenting insurrection and corporate manslaughter, and dragged away in chains. Fine the union ten million for each day their members are out. Nursing union REJECTS 5% pay offer and announces new strike dates: RCN to stage 48-hour walkout later this month and will NOT staff emergency, intensive and cancer care The Royal College of Nursing confirmed 54% of balloted members reject the deal The union announced its members would hold a 48-hour strike from April 30 www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-11973739/Nursing-union-REJECTS-5-pay-offer-announces-new-strike-dates.html

Many junior doctors earn £14.00 per hour - NOT GOOD ENOUGH All junior doctors are in real terms, worse off in pay than they were 15 years ago, and that is due to years of either pay freezes or pay rises way below inflation. The Drop-Out rate is now a very worrying 40%, many are going to New Zealand, Australia, the United States and other countries where pay is better, and terms and conditions are better. MOST people in the private sector would not work the kinds of hours and shifts that junior doctors work, where for example your weekend On-Call begins at 5pm Friday ( the time you finish your normal shift ) and continues on for 64 hours continuous until 9am Monday morning ( the time you begin your normal shift ). A 35% pay rise is asking too much, but it does represent what junior doctors have lost over 15 years They deserve at the very minimum, a pay rise in line with inflation, and a guarantee that some of their losses in real terms pay will be recompensed over a period of time. Wakey wakey, EVERYBODY has been royally screwed as far as pay goes and this twat wants every penny of the twenty six oer cent he says his profession has lost in the last 15 years restored. Right now the people he is replacing (well, not him, he’s too busy swanning around on family riches) refuse to go back to work as the Mandatory Pension Contributions will put them over the lifetime limit. I’ve worn a white coat and walked those corridors behind A&E as a lab rat. I worked the same hours as those junior doctors. I wax paid a third what they were. And while they say they list twenty six per cent over the past fifteen years i got fuck all and the only people who got any pay rise were the people on the NMW and they only got a pay rise because it would have been illegal for them not to.

I am not talking about my own doorstep you daft oaf. I am talking about the many people I meet on their doorsteps all over my city whilst out campaigning. There are plenty of idiots like you out there which goes some way towards explaining why this country is in the state it's in. That you actually have a vote is worrying indeed.

Maybe if prat posts like yours could take a grown approach to the NHS the NHS would not be so heavily damaged under Conservative governments.

Well you do your best to denigrate the NHS as if there was nothing that was ever good about it (as under Blair for instance). I don't see you doing anything to help. Just be wary of privatisation, take a look at the American people who work just to pay their hospital bills and their medication. And IIRC their health systems coast more per head than does the NHS.
