Long forgotten and overgrown woodland into an urban oasis of biodiversity'. just leave it alone and let nature take its course.........This is why unlimited migration cannot go on........Our wildlife doesn't have a say. Stop these greedy developers destroying the country.
The 'eco homes' plan so absurd locals thought it was an APRIL FOOL joke! Developers want to tear down 70 trees to create an 'urban oasis' in historic woodland in famous Cadbury's village EXCLUSIVE: Developer sparks fury with 'urban oasis' plan in Bournville woodland But residents have a history of fighting off attempts by developers to build there
A business consortium has sparked fury in a British village famous for its Cadbury chocolate factory over plans to cut down historic trees and build 'eco homes' instead.
Bournbrook Secret Woods's plan for an 'eco village' has angered residents of Bournville, Birmingham, after it was revealed 70 historic trees would be cut down to accommodate eco homes, a treetop walkway, car park and large community centre.
Residents, who have fought off plans for homes and phone masts on the woodland, thought the plan was an 'April Fool' after discovering the consultation website on April 1 but soon realised it was genuine and have since called on Birmingham City Council councillor Mary Locke to intervene.
The land was purchased by Bournbrook Secret Woods Ltd for £75,000 in
November 2022. Pictured: Sparrey Drive, where eco homes would be built on the
wooded areas (left and right) if planning permission is granted.

I agree it should be left alone, it is the greedy developers that want to make a lot of money, I am though, just wondering what immigration has to do with it, do you blame everything bad on immigrants?

The growth in population and thus most of the growth in demand for housing is driven by immigration. Without immigration we would have a declining population - which would actually be the most environmentally friendly option.

I'm sure some do. They just want to screw us and fuck things up.

What are you talking about we do not take that sort of asylum seekers in this country, any other immigration is down to the government of the day, you know them, the ones that are not building enough houses to cope with our own citizens.

That is the point, we are not building enough for our own citizens and we are allowing an enormous influx of legal and illegal immigration not to mention refugees from Hong Kong, Afghanistan and Ukraine. Yet if we call for strict control of immigration we are ignored and called racist by many in the official opposition who, let us be clear, would not change anything other than build more houses and allow in more immigrants. Perhaps if the left were clear in their policies it would help. So far it seems to be allow as many refugees in as need or prefer to come in to the UK, build more houses for everyone. Now perhaps I am being cynical but I can see major problems with that policy as regards the environment and the seeking of net zero.

More bd news for the bumburghurs.. Germany turns its back on nuclear for good despite Europe's energy crisis The German government is phasing out nuclear power despite the energy crisis. The country is pulling the plug on its last three reactors on Saturday (15 April), betting it will succeed in its green transition without nuclear power. On the banks of the Neckar River, not far from Stuttgart in south Germany, the white steam escaping from the nuclear power plant in Baden-Württemberg will soon be a memory. The same applies further east for the Bavarian Isar 2 complex and the Emsland complex, at the other end of the country, not far from the Dutch border. While many Western countries depend on nuclear power, Europe's largest economy is turning the page- even if the subject remains controversial until the end.
