Your biggest problem, a problem that is shared by many remainiacs, is the fact that you struggle with the very concept of democracy. We voted to leave the EU, and ever since you have been stamping your little left wing feet and demanding that the biggest vote in UK political history is ignored. Grow up or here's a thought, why not invest in a one way ticket to your beloved EU. Everyone would be happy. No one has a problem with democracy, though gullible and easily led fools voting in it is it's biggest downside that has to be lived with. You lot were lied to and were wholly fooled by it hook line and sinker. Now that we can see the reality, many of the more thoughtful amongst you regret the way they voted according to polling. At some point in the future, negotiating a return will appear on the political agenda. That too will be subject to a democratic vote. You see, democracy means that no decision is ever set in stone for all time. Future votes can change things. Probably unlikely to happen in your lifetime though, so no need for your head to explode just yet. You claim you don't have a problem with democracy, yet you continue to whinge about and criticise the result of the largest democratic vote in UK history. We were lied to in 1992 when John Major handed us to the EU without a referendum, at that time he said being in the EU would not affect UK sovereignty, which was a blatant lie. For proof of this see 1972 EU Communities Act, and the 2007 Treaty of Lisbon which reaffirmed the supremacy of EU law as set out in the 1972 Act. Or are you of the opinion that John Major was unaware of this? I do not for a moment regret voting to leave the EU, when it comes to the imposed and undemocratic monstrosity that is the EU my only regret is that it will take a long time to unravel 50 years worth of EU laws, regulations and diktats from UK law.

With the right political structure, competent politicians and support from industry and public, Brexit can and hopefully will prove a success. I could cast my eyes around the numerous fora and make a better parliament than we have. Not many from this forum would be much of an improvement, sadly. We have the politicians we deserve due to being stupid enough to vote for them in large numbers.

Well I think its great . Don't forget we have signed up to the EES system which means anyone coming into the UK also has their photo and fingerprints taken .
It will be a one time only registration , the information being downloaded to the biometrics on your passport . The EU's own website says among other things that the new system will help bona fide third country nationals move more freely in and out of the EU and make wider use of self service passport control which are quicker and more convienient for the traveller .
So in short expect a few teething problems then everything will work better for everyone .

In the early 2000s I lived in a housing scheme for older people in London ... where there were many elderly people of immigrant background. One of the tenants there, an Egyptian, explained to me why so many of the flats appeared to be unoccupied ... the tenants were spending most of the year back in their countries of origin. These people were claiming Pension Credit and Housing allowance as if they were living in Britain. They had, prior to retirement, transferred their money out of the country ... set up businesses and had houses in their home countries. Their flats in Britain were visited regularly by family to check the mail. If the pensions people planned to visit the tenant would fly back. The tenant would also return when they needed free NHS treatment. It was noticeable that when there was trouble in Kenya the scheme suddenly had a dozen or so Kenyan tenants we didn't normally see. Passport controls have (or will) prevent these people from taking advantage of the system.
This Egyptian tenant had a lucrative scheme going. He collected tenants unused medication (when they died or went into hospital or care homes) and every so often would return to Egypt with these medications ... bribe the customs people with free meds and sell the rest for a considerable sum. His sister in Egypt was a doctor and was involved in this "illegal" importing of what was in some cases expensive drugs. He'd been an elite pilot in the Egyptian air force (he claimed to have been personally acquainted with Nasser) prior to moving to Britain .. so he had "contacts" he could rely on if things went wrong.

EUSSR fingerprint checks to make Dover queues 'seven times longer' in May Story by Millie Cooke - Political Reporter • 5h ago Travellers are facing queues up to seven times longer in Dover this summer, as a new fingerprint check system is set to be introduced in May. The new measure, known as the Entry Exit System (EES), will take photos and fingerprints of people from third countries crossing the border entering and exiting the EUSSR.
The UK requested to be included in the new system - due to come into force in May 2023 - as part of the Brexit deal after contributing to its development while a member of the EUSSR.
The move means non-European citizens, including Britons, will have to get their fingerprints and a facial biometric analysed every time they enter and leave the bloc.
European Commission's department for Migration and Home Affairs said: "EES will replace the current system of manual stamping of passports, which is time-consuming, does not provide reliable data on border crossings and does not allow a systematic detection of overstayers."
That's fair enough. What the EU do is their choice. FWIW you couldn't pay me to leave Britain on a holiday from Dover. I suspect, it will be affluent middle-class remnants with their second property in France that will be whinging about this as much as anyone else. I'd sooner travel abroad by plane.

Numbers always have confused you haven't they As for the rest of your demented delusionary rant:

Shame that the EU doesn't apply the same diligence to the millions of illegals flooding across its borders.
But no, they'd rather harass UK tourists who actually contribute to their economy.
That's a whole new level of StEUpidity and why we'll be holidaying outside of the EU for the foreseeable.
Sucks to be EU.

You have to produce a Passport or relevant travel document to enter France, but you don't need one to leave it to cross the Channel, its the ruddy French being arseholes again , only two French Officials on Duty again.

But that's my point: The illegals clearly haven't produced any documents when they entered the EU.
That's the farce of it.
