EUSSR fingerprint checks to make Dover queues 'seven times longer' in May Story by Millie Cooke - Political Reporter • 5h ago Travellers are facing queues up to seven times longer in Dover this summer, as a new fingerprint check system is set to be introduced in May. The new measure, known as the Entry Exit System (EES), will take photos and fingerprints of people from third countries crossing the border entering and exiting the EUSSR.
The UK requested to be included in the new system - due to come into force in May 2023 - as part of the Brexit deal after contributing to its development while a member of the EUSSR.
The move means non-European citizens, including Britons, will have to get their fingerprints and a facial biometric analysed every time they enter and leave the bloc.
European Commission's department for Migration and Home Affairs said: "EES will replace the current system of manual stamping of passports, which is time-consuming, does not provide reliable data on border crossings and does not allow a systematic detection of overstayers."

On the bright side, and in saying this I'm not attempting to trivialise the situation, but it just might make people think twice about holidaying in the EU.

You wanted this shit about control at our borders, now stop whining and just accept you fucked up and read THE ackonowledged UK expert on this Simon Calder explains'Until 2021, there was a “light touch” approach, with many vehicles simply waved through. Even if the French officer did look, the only formality for British citizens was a simple verification check: “Is this a valid EU travel document, and is this the holder?”
But the UK signed up for a hard European Union border to be installed with our nearest continental neighbour – like the borders the EU has with Russia and Turkey.
Every UK passport holder – and these make up two-thirds of Dover’s tourist traffic – must now have their passport examined and stamped.'
Or in short: more Brexshit

Let me get this straight. The consequences of our departure from the EU in terms of border delays, is not the fault of those deluded and gullible fools who voted for it. It is the EU's fault for treating us as a a non-member, in spite of the fact that we are a non-member. Lol
You Brexshit clowns really are looking increasingly delusional and idiotic with every week that passes.

Why would that be a bright side if people want to go to EU countries that's up to them, surely? The EU don't have countries they have states. And of course it's up to the people concerned. But if people choose to holiday in this country rather than face queues at Dover then as far as I'm concerned that's good, no great news.

LOL, SRB & Steve should get a room and quietly sob to one another. Says one of this forum's spokesmen for the generation that has done more than any other to disprove the notion that wisdom comes with age. Future generations are wiser than the majority of you lot. Many of your idiocies will pass with you, after which we will end up trying to negotiate the terms of our reentry, lol. This much is obvious. Except you probably lack the wisdom to see it.

Your biggest problem, a problem that is shared by many remainiacs, is the fact that you struggle with the very concept of democracy. We voted to leave the EU, and ever since you have been stamping your little left wing feet and demanding that the biggest vote in UK political history is ignored. Grow up or here's a thought, why not invest in a one way ticket to your beloved EU. Everyone would be happy.

It's all a big plot by Napoleon to make us think it's Brexit, how the fuck can migrants be leaving France with no checks, no queues, no passport control, jump in dinghy's and cross the channel with great ease.
The people traffickers are more organized and competent than the French border control FFS.
The BIG queues are all thanks to dirty guts Macron who is seething, bitter and twisted about Brexit, and will punish us as much as he can, starting with UK tourism, some people just can't see through him.

No one has a problem with democracy, though gullible and easily led fools voting in it is it's biggest downside that has to be lived with. You lot were lied to and were wholly fooled by it hook line and sinker. Now that we can see the reality, many of the more thoughtful amongst you regret the way they voted according to polling. At some point in the future, negotiating a return will appear on the political agenda. That too will be subject to a democratic vote. You see, democracy means that no decision is ever set in stone for all time. Future votes can change things. Probably unlikely to happen in your lifetime though, so no need for your head to explode just yet.

With the right political structure, competent politicians and support from industry and public, Brexit can and hopefully will prove a success. I could cast my eyes around the numerous fora and make a better parliament than we have.
