Because not all are Muslim, all Muslims can eat non Halal if nothing else is available, it is bending over backwards to provide a welcome as opposed to a safe haven. It is the difference between providing a bed for a displaced neighbour by fire on the floor and doing that and providing him with a mobile phone that you pay for as well. There are obligations, duties and considerations and it is a two way street not just a three lane N/B into our house. |

Not quite sure on your question. 100% indicates all. It is in the Netherlands so bearing in mind their food production levels I would think everything else is available. |

It is not just food. It is meat produced contrary to the full stun normally demanded from historic regulations. Meat produced for Halal is either not stunned, or stunned with a reduced level to remove the risk of it being killed by the shock. This however may mean that animals are not stunned at time of slaughter. There was a time that Europe had regulations that ensured the humane treatment of animals going to slaughter. Dispensation was given to religious groups to produce food for their own consumption. Now we find it is all over the place and we either eat it without knowing or are forced to accept it. The thing I do not understand is the animal rights people are very quiet about it. |

But you agree with 'forcing' people to eat none Halal meat. No one is being forced they can eat non Halal if Halal is not available. On my flights on Emirates I was informed all the food was Halal and that there was no choice. Non Halal was not specially prepared so we ate or starved. I would not deliberately offer a bacon sandwich or a pork pie but there are limits on how far one goes and if non Halal was offered with no choice that is no different than what most of us are offered. The main difference of course is we are paying customers. |
