To say it would be a break in tradition is somewhat overstating it don't you think? I mean, we havent had a coronation since 1953 and how many US presidents were invited to coronations prior to that? You do know we've had a fair few coronations since James Monroe (1st POTUS we weren't at war with) in 1817 don't you Maybe not but I promise you the world, the UK and USA all existed for many many years before you were born Pillock. |

I agree. But I think there will be quite a few in the US who will disagree with Biden not attending. I know Charles isn't his mum but I think, and in spite of that prat Harry, the British monarchy are still, for the moment anyway, popular in the US. What possible difference would American public opinion make? Charles has no role in the US, and US heads of state don't poll the people on their foreign travel decisions. The royal family enjoys the same sort of following with the American people as a soap opera. I'm aware of that, oddly enough. However, that does not detract from the 'fact' that the British royal family/monarchy are popular in the US, they love anything royal. Having said that, I accept Harry may have tarnished their reputation in recent years. |

The royal family enjoys the same sort of following with the American people as a soap opera. I'm aware of that, oddly enough. However, that does not detract from the 'fact' that the British royal family/monarchy are popular in the US, they love anything royal. Having said that, I accept Harry may have tarnished their reputation in recent years. Personally I don't think many Americans know much about our Royal family if anything or care, I agree Harry's popularity has gone down since he and his control freak of a wife have thrown their Teddies out of the pram. |

US Presidents have never attended Coronations - it would have been a break in tradition had he decided to come. A break in tradition! lol. You make it sound as if coronations are regular events. The last coronation was 1953, how traditional is an event that hasn't happend for 70 years? The old fool could have gone to the Queens Coronation he'd have been 11 at the time, he probably declined saying he couldn't attend Queen Elizabeth's coronation. |
