ah back to the trusty old arguing semantics and denying reality while playing stupid ( are you playing stupid?)
Anguilla never wanted or became an independent state ( from british rule) happy. it became independent from st kitts and nevis state. Zimbabwe , your other example is currently so overjoyed with independence from london rule it maintains that independence and doesnt want to return.
Two very poor and erronous examples.
it matters greatly to your hyperbole and crystal ball gazing about fire flood and armageddon if scotland became independent by showing examples in 65 cases of where not one country experienced economic damage that bad it thought london rule better.
Fact , as opposed to your waffling hysteria.
Semantics have nothing to do with it. All that I have said about both Anguilla and Rhodesia/ Zimbabwe is clear and unambiguous - and, most importantly, correct. neither one meet the criteria of my original question happy , so by default are dismissed.
just reading there as well happy ireland is not only one of the wealthiest countires in the world , but healthiest , and they have nicked £200 billion of londons banking since brexit.
I tell you happy , i can see irish reunification with the yookay is on the cards any day now. They must long for the wonders of london rule that scotland has.

. All that matters is what is best for Scotland and what it is that the Scottish people want which, as I keep repeating and you keep ignoring, is not independence. i see as well the irish passport is ranked sixth in the world for visa free access , way ahead of that back of the queue british brexit passport we scots are forced to endure happy.
No wonder so many of your london politicians are reported to have one instead of the using the dodgy bwitish one.

They did , because they didnt want independence from britian. So what you said was wrong because yourt example as explained didnt meet the criteria of the question . That question was repeated to you in bold in my previous post.
When you learn to read , and understand , then perhaps you can come up with some sort of rational example.
What question is that, Thomas? The one that you originally asked or the one that you subsequently claim that you asked? Either way, Anguilla is an example of an entity that experienced independence from British authority, decided that it wanted to go back to being under British authority, and subsequently requested and received a return to British authority. But, yet again, you ignore the crucial point - which is that what other territories wanted, or decided to do, doesn’t matter here. All that matters is what the Scottish people want and what is best for Scotland - and the Scottish people don’t want independence . Simples! did you see even the yanks are talking about the uks "end of days" happy? Must be a worry for you ?
LONDON — As Britain prepares for the coronation of its new king, an end-of-days feeling is sweeping the nation. In an atmosphere of social unrest, economic dysfunction and government corruption, deep political disillusionment has set in.
While the wealth of the very richest rocketed, the party’s program of austerity, begun by David Cameron in 2010 and continued by each Conservative prime minister since, starved public services, created one of the most miserly welfare states in the developed world and contributed to the longest period of wage stagnation — for many, wage regression — since the Napoleonic Wars. Life expectancy is down, child poverty is up, and there are few signs of a reprieve on the horizon. Life under the Tories has become poorer, nastier, more brutish and shorter.

I would rather be a master of my own destiny than a servant at another mans table , unlike you.
So why touch your cap to Brussels and apply for readmission to the EU ? meant to reply to this in depth the other day borkie. Since probably the brexit referendum you have been saying the same thing to me a number of times a year that is ......why wont you jocks do as england tells you and support leaving the EU.
Despite the numerous in depth replies i have given over the years , you ignore them as you dont agree with them , move on , then a few months later ask the same question.
What i want to know is why you brits touch your cap to nato ? I mean washington sets your defence and foreign policy , interferes in what passes for your democracy (for example northern ireland and the protocol) and controls so much of the facet of your lives that its a wonder why you bother with the pretence of electing mps to westmisnter when you should be electing politicians to the yanks congress.?
The poit again is that every country including yours joins organisations it deems worthwile and gives up part of its sovereignty , but the idea scotland in the EU is comparable as i said to the british prison and dysfunctional state is of course laughably ill informed.

I was correct in all that I said about both Anguilla and Rhodesia/Zimbabwe. However, as I find myself regularly repeating on here, you don’t let anything as trivial as the truth get in the way of cheap point scoring or wide-boy taunting. what that anguilla didnt want or get independence from britian , and zimbabwe did?
That Anguilla requested and received a return to British authority in the early ‘70s and that Rhodesia/Zimbabwe returned short-term to British authority under the Lancaster House Agreement, of course.

Back to the horrors of the uk , you ask how scotland will pay its way independent ? I liked wee angus macneils reply the other week when he pointed out you british and your state have only paid back 1.7 % of your debt you accrued since 1945 ?
Why arent you asking for another country to run your affairs ?

From someone who obviously allows himself a lot of latitude in redefining what his original question was, it seems a tad hypocritical to pick me up when you don’t feel that I have stuck to the criteria of you original question. However, I will once again repeat that what I said about Anguilla and Rhodesia/Zimbabwe is correct. And, btw, your original question was “what country has independence from London been so bad in any part of the world they have asked to come back”, and you subsequently went on to explain that by “country” you meant “ entity”, so the answer to that is Anguilla.

Cease with the reality denying and alternative universe thinking, Thomas. They are your London politicians too. And what does any of the above have to do with your bad example of Ireland’s experience post-independence where they suffered 6 decades in the poorhouse and still, over a century later, have a poorer standard of living than those in the country they left.

That’s just another non -answer to add to the list of non-answers you have given rather than explain what the plan is to prevent an Indy Scotland suffering deep and long-term economic and financial hardship. It’s hard to conclude anything other than you don’t care how much your fellow Scots would suffer so long as your obsession with independence is realised.

Anguilla and Rhodesia/Zimbabwe is correct. last time happy .
heres what i said originally.
i repeated the question further on the thread for you.
your reply? Anguilla and zimbabwe ( rhodesia).
My final explanation on your diversion as to why you are wrong. Anguilla never bacame independent of britain. It went for a short period of time independent of st kitts rule and wanted direct british rule rather than st kitts rule . This rules anguilla out of the dabte as it has never been independent , or wanted indepence from britian. Its not very difficult.
The second point on zimbabwe rhodesia is quite clear. The white minority colonists declared UDI and left british rule , but didnt ask to return to it.
It was in 1978 ian smith conceded to black majority rule , for which the british were brought in to oversee the elections of this unrecognised state and when the blacks won zanu became the goivernment and achieved independence in 1980 as zimbabwe.
So how is this an exmaple of a country asking to leave then returning to british rule? neither group ( white minority colonists or blakc majority) wanted to return to british rule and when demcoracy prevailed the blacks took independence rather than london rule , where they remain today.
Poor show happy.

A recent report found the poorest third in ireland are far far richer happier and healthier than their counterparts in the uk. You hoist yourself with your own petard happy , if things for the first 6 decades were that bad after irish indy , why werent they clamouring at londons gates to return?
I tell you happy , i know for a fact you arent a hun. Whatever their faults , huns at least can sometimes cobble together a coherent reply as to why the world needs the union and king billy as opposed to your consistent squealing about the union and how bad things are for all the independent countries of th world.

As I have already said, things are pretty bad right now. However, they are not even in the same universe as the economic and financial hardship that we would be faced with if we ever became independent. If things ever do get that bad then that would be the time to start considering our options. in the meantime, our attention should be focussed on how we improve the situation we find ourselves in rather than wasting time and energy squabbling about something (ie. independence) that is not going to happen in our lifetimes, at the very least.

It must have been a crushing blow that krankie resigned , but scot indy carried on with much support to you?
Bit like when salmond resigned , we were told thats it jock , youve had your fun its all over.
Eventually happy , when you come to accept an indy scotand you will deny ever being a unionist.

I cant wait for scottish indy happy . With the uks terminal decline , you must lie awake each and every night wondering how near the end of the union is.
